11th HOUR
Well, it's finally here. Tomorrow is the day to vote. We've been counting down to this day for months now. I just have some things I want to say about it. I remember in 2000, my first time I got to vote for president. I was so excited that I actually debated whether or not to wear a tie. I didn't have a suit or even a button down shirt. I had a white shirt with 3 buttons on the collar and I was thinking about wearing a tie. I'm glad I didn't. I bring this up because this election will be the first time another friend of ours gets to vote for president. Jake, you are as excited as I was? I felt, and still do, that this is the greatest honor we have in this country. I also wanted to talk about sore winners and sore losers. I wish I could say that there won't be any gloating from the winning party, but we all know there will be. More so from the Democrats than the Republicans. With people like Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon and Martin Sheen, it's could get real ugly. But I would just like to ask my readers to try and stay civil. No in your face comments or anything that you wouldn't want thrown at you if your candidate lost. Some people are saying that the outcome of this election could be the opposite of the 2000 election. Bush could win the popular vote but lose the electoral collage. Should this happen, I for one won't be calling Kerry an illegitimate president. I won't be demanding recounts every 5 minutes. I'll suck up my pride and congratulate him, no matter how much it hurts. I may not like it, but what we should all do. It would be hypocritical to do otherwise. But, while I'm on the subject, how many Democrats will say about Kerry what they've been saying about Bush for the past 4 years? I'm guessing not many. So, you know, just try to act like human beings tomorrow. Some gloating is okay, just don't get carried away with it.
