THE HARRIET MIERS POST
I've been seeing, on the news, that quite a few of Bush's supporters are angry with his pick for the Supreme Court. They're concerned that she has no prior experience as a judge. Well, as we all know, she wouldn't be the first justice to serve with no prior experience. But here's something I didn't know. Almost half of them had no prior experience as a judge. Some of the names include John Marshall, Earl Warren and William Rehnquist. I've also heard that they, Bush's supporters, have a problem with the nomination because she's a personal friend of his. Please don't tell me you think this is something new. JFK put his brother in as Attorney General. LBJ, like W, nominated his personal lawyer for the Supreme Court. I think this fear, or what ever it is, of her being a friend is a smoke screen for something else. The media has been digging and digging it into our brains that because we don't know every little position she has that she could turn out like David Souter. W's known her for ten years. Something tells me he's not going to nominate someone who could revert back to her dark Democrat days. Did Reagan?
