20 Years Ago

Challenger Crew

I just barely remember when this happened. I was in first or second grade and the teachers had grouped some of the classes together to watch it. Being only 6 at the time I don't remember all the details but I do remember one of the teacher running to the t.v. to turn it off after the Challenger exploded. I also remember some of the other kids crying.

The crew of the space shuttle Challenger honored us by the manner in which they lived their lives. We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for their journey and waved good-bye and "slipped the surly bonds of earth" to "touch the face of God."
