Wednesday Hero

Sgt. Shannon D. Taylor
United States Army
3rd Squadron, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment
30 years old from Smithville, Tennessee
August 14, 2005

Sgt. Shannon Taylor died of injuries sustained on August 13, 2005, in Tuz, Iraq, while he was conducting a mounted patrol his HMMWV(High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, aka Humvee) came under attack by enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire.

These brave men and women have given their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

If you have a loved who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces, and would like for me to profile them as a Wednesday Hero, I would be proud to. Just email me with some info and a photo.
