Bush's Border Plan

I just watched Bush's speech on the border situation. I couldn't find anything I disagreed with. It sounded like a pretty good plan to me. I can't find a link to the speech right now, but when I do I'll get it up. Your turn. What did you think of the speech? Did you agree with his plan or was he showing his true racist colors?
:EDIT:
Here's Bush's plan. Thanks to Don Singleton for getting that to me.

Personally, I think he was showing his true hypocritical colours. He was shooting down everyone else's amnesty programs (literally making fun of them), and yet here he is putting forward his own "Temporary Worker Program" which is the exact same thing, just with a time limit.

That I have to agree with. He says he doesn't want amnesty, yet that's exactly what he's proposing.

I was not impressed with President Bush's speech last night. It was so short I almost missed it. And, it was more of his earlier ideas rehashed again. The president continues to straddle the political fence on illegal immigration. He is right about the fact that we must control our borders.

Using National Guard and other military assets sound good if they are utilized in an appropriate manner. IN the past, CBP was mixed on how it used the military assets. It depends on the individual port officials (land crossing, etc) the bulk of his speech sounds like we are going to reward bad behavior. Illegals should go home and get in the back of the immigration line.

The western governors think the plan is a dud, also.

President Bush needs to think, "Border, Language, and Culture." Mid-term elections are going to be a bitch.

Actually Chris, it's exactly what I was expecting him to do. I think Kos may have predicted the same thing (but they have so much stuff I can't tell anymore).

He didn't have a choice on that one, since despite what most laypeople think 5% of the economy is a significant figure. Especially when it's all in one or two key industries (which is the part most people leave off).
