Growing Up

First off, It's good to be back. Miss me? The reason I took a week off, well six days, was because for the past few months I've been thinking about hanging up the keyboard. On Sep. 15 it will be three years since I started blogging and I figure what better day to end it on. I took the week to see if I would be able to not blog. I found out that, nope, I can't. Have you ever watched "Star Trek"? If so then you know the Borg. Look up. Blogging is integrated into my circuitry. It was driving me nuts not having an outlet to vent myself. Stupid stories everywhere. The one that really got me was this jackass who claims to have been the one to kill JonBenet Ramsey. Not the story itself, but what the media covered about it. Watching FNC, and they were creaming their jeans over where this guy sat on the plane when transported back to the states. What?!?!?!? Who the hell cares what seat he was sitting in on a plane? I don't, and I hope none of you do either. Whatever. On to the real post.

In case you didn't know, yesterday was my birthday. 27-years-old. Damn, what's happened? Anyway, I was sitting around and thinking about it. I'm now an adult. I've become what I've always dreaded. And now that I'm grown, I'm beginning to think that maybe some things should change. I've never been one for partying, but if I were this would be the time that I would have to start slowing down. I'm not big on marriage, but if I were this would be the time that I would want to settle down and raise a family. The horror. But, there are things that I still enjoy today that I did as a kid that I should maybe start backing away from. For example, I still like fruity, sugary cereals like Capt. Crunch and Cocoa Pebbles. Maybe it's time to let those go and start eating Cherrios and Corn Flakes. I still like Chef Boyardee canned Spaghetti. Maybe it's time for a more adult soup like Campbell's Select. I still, to this day, have the urge to go out into my backyard and play with G.I. Joe and Transformers. I still have AC/DC posters hanging on my bedroom walls. On a hot day I still like "play" in the sprinkler. I get giddy when watching "Star Wars". I sometimes watch Nickelodeon cartoons("The Fairly OddParents" and "Jimmy Neutron" are funny). I still air-guitar to a good rock song. I become a 10-year-old kid at Christmas. Perhaps, now that I'm almost 30, it's time to put all this stuff away and start acting like the adult that I now am. But, then again....

You may get older, but nobody ever said you had to grow up. Sometimes it may be a little awkward, especially at work or when you are out with a chick, but you have a whole lot more fun that way.
You might want to play with the GI Joes and Transformers by yourself, and not tell anyone. That might be considered a little weird.
One of my favorite sayings is: "If you aren't having fun, it's your own fault because nobody is going to have fun for you!"
