A Great Game Of Political Chess, II

This time it's the Democrats. In a recent story, that's been buried, two high-power Democrats were talking about how if the War On Terror fails it's going to help them. Said N.Y. Senator, Chuck Schumer,
It's at least my belief that they are going to have to break because they're going to look extinction, some of them, in the eye
And he's right. Republicans most likely will lose seats if they continue to support the war. But I would rather have someone lose their seat than become John Kerry, Jr.

Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid,
We're going to pick up Senate seats as a result of this war
And that's what's important, isn't that right Harry?

This war shouldn't be fought on the basis of public opinion. But sadly, it is. It doesn't matter one damn bit that a majority of Americans don't agree with it. I don't care if I was the only person in America that supported this war, Congress can't conduct something this important based on polls. Like I've said in the past, the only thing these people are worried about is power.

Curiouser and curiouser.

I 'spose you gave equal coverage to the Republican party's memos in the last election (not the mid-term) about how they were to keep on talking about the war and security and avoid economic and social issues because that would be the best way to win seats?
