Passing A Stone

I woke up on Tuesday morning to the most intense pain I'd ever felt in my life. It felt like my lower back was on fire. I thought it was just a muscle or something. A few hours later the pain went away and I was fine. Then today, Friday, I again woke to that same pain. Only this time it lasted longer and there was a bit of blood in my urine. I just got back from the emergency room where they told me that I was trying to pass a kidney stone. If you've never passed one, count your lucky stars. I don't cry very often, but that pain had me in tears today. Hopefully this damn thing will pass in the next couple of days so I can be done with it.

Been there, done that. More than once. Mine were stubborn, they had to go in and get them. Hope yours passes on it's own - and quickly! Fluids, LOTS of fluids!

See, that's what I'm afraid of. I don't want them to have to go in and get them. But it's been a week and nothing so far, so I'm starting to get a little concerned. But there's been no pain, except the pain in my kidney on Tuesday and Friday. So I don't know. I've taken to drinking cranberry juice to help it along, and, God help me, I'm starting to like the stuff.
