An Eagle Scout, Thomas M. Martin took on cleaning up an old red train caboose as a service project. "He remodeled it to make it where people could go inside. If you saw it before and looked in it after he was through - it was daylight and dark", said his former principal, Robert Martin, who is no relation. "Tom was involved in Key Club, German Club and band, making All-Region Band his sophomore year", said Robert Martin. "He was a wonderful young man. Those that knew him knew he was funny and outgoing."

Lt. Martin died in Al Busayifi, Iraq of wounds sustained from small-arms fire when insurgents attacked his unit during combat operations. He enlisted in the Army in 1998 after graduating high school and served in Korea before accepting an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 2005.

"He was very polite and respectful. I can't think of him ever overreacting; he had a wonderful, good-natured personality", said Pat Hagge, a family friend. "It's a terrible tragedy; he was a great young man."

Lt. Thomas Martin is survived by his parents, Edmund and Candis.

Read Between The Lines

As Barack Obama continues his campaign as President of The World I wanted to take the time to point out a few things that you may have missed. First is his campaign plastering the holiest site in Jerusalem with campaign posters. The next two come form Glenn Beck. In Obama's speech to the people of Germany he said a couple of things that need to be looked at a little more carefully.
This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that opens markets to free agents and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development.
Share the wealth more equitably?
Now is the time to join together through constant cooperation and strong institutions and shared sacrifice and a global commitment to progress to meet the challenges of the 21st century
Kind of sounds like a World Government he's talking about. Who's running for president? Barack Obama or Karl Marx?

What Freedom?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It's doesn't mean we have to agree with what's said. It doesn't mean we can't speak up against something we don't like. What it does mean is that we can't be punished for saying something dumb, unpopular or controversial. And the latest victim of this fascism is Michael Savage. He says something ignorant and very controversial, and what's the first reaction by some people? "He should be fired". What for? Exercising his first amendment right?

Getting Hosed

A federal rescue of troubled mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could cost taxpayers as much as $25 billion, Congress' top budget analyst said Tuesday.
Not guaranteed, but could.

"Don't worry folks, the federal government is here to take care of you. It's our job."

The New York Times Is Right

Drudge is reporting that the NY Times has refused to print an editorial by Sen. John McCain in response to one that they published by Sen. Obama less than a week ago. And they're right not to do so. To post a piece by the blasphemer McCain that speaks ill of the man who will lead us to the promised land is unconscionable. I mean, what would make Sen. McCain think he could write an editorial and say what he wants to? That's not how editorials work.

Then we have this.

Trek Movie News 18

Been a while since there's been any news worth talking about. TrekMovie.com has four posters up that will be available at Comic Con next week that feature Kirk, Spock, Uhura and the villain in the movie, Nero. When all four posters are put together you get the following image.
Zachary Quinto could be Leonard Nemoy's son he looks so much like him. There's just one thing he should do. Squint more. If you look a pictures of Nimoy as Spock, his eyes aren't as wide as Quinto's. You can go here to see larger images of the posters.
We all know that the majority of the media in this country needs to change their underwear every time they talk about Barack Obama, but the bias for him is starting to reach levels that have never been seen. The "Big 3" are sending their anchors across Europe and the Middle East with Sen. Obama. Not correspondents, but Williams, Gibson and Couric themselves. John McCain has made three trips to the Middle East in the past four months with very little mention let alone with Katie Couric going with him. Is anyone else reminded of the Disciples following the Messiah to the Holy Land when hearing this. Obama sneezes and the media talk about it for days while McCain can't buy airtime on the nightly news.

Gaffe or Ignorance By Obama

I'm going to call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and give them a new mission, and that is to bring the war in Iraq to a close. We are going to get out.
Only a small problem. The JCoS don't have command over U.S. military forces. Did Obama just make an honest gaffe or does our next potential president not know the chain of command on a VERY important topic such as this? You also have to notice the outright bias of the media. Back in 1999, then Gov. Bush was running for office and he was asked to name the leaders of Chechnya, Taiwan, India and Pakistan. He only got one of them. The media had a field day with it. Something tells me you won't see anything like that here. If anyone in the media is actually brave enough to call him out on it, he'll just laugh it off and they'll eat it up. I mean, after all, the Messiah is never wrong.
If you've been following the news you no doubt can't get away from the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac story. Remember a few short years ago, Enron was all over the news and was trashed by everyone and their mother for cooking the books to the tune of $567 million. Government hearing, firings, damnation by the media and our government. Fast forward a few years to two government-run mortgage companies, one of which, Fannie Mae, has upped that to $6.2 BILLION and our government is bailing them out? No one's been fired. No one's been raked over the coals. No one's been brought before Congress. Then we have the media ignoring the fact that this scandal is much bigger than Enron. But I guess since the Bush administration has 0 connections to either Fannie or Freddie, it's not that important.

Wednesday Hero

Spc. Kisha Mackerney isn't being profiled today because of something she did on the battlefield. She's being profiled because her spirit and determination. In 2002, Makerney joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard out of a sense of patriotism, because, as she put it, "I love our country and our people." Between 2004 and 2005, she served in Iraq as a gunner and helped provide battalion security. She returned home in early 2005 and was in a terrible motorcycle accident on June 25, 2005. The front wheel of her brand new bike had blown out and sent her flying into a highway sign. She looked up at her now mangled bike and was angry. That's when she noticed that her left leg below the knee was missing. The first thing she thought of when she saw her leg was that her military career was over.

Makerney pulled herself out of the ditch that she had landed in and was able to flag down a passing motorist. She was taken a hospital in Hugo, Oklahoma before being flown to Dallas, Texas.

As soon as word spread about her accident, her fellow soldiers, her second family, rallied and rushed to her bedside. "Even before I was out of surgery they were waiting in the halls," she said.

Get Over It

Everyone in the country claims to love the first amendment. We hold it up on high when we want to say or do something that may be unpopular. Burn the flag? First amendment. Say curse words on television or radio? First amendment. Tell the world of a secret military mission in Iraq? First amendment. We embrace it. That is until something offends us, then to hell with it. We're all guilty of it. I know I am.

Obama campaign outraged by New Yorker cover. As the title says, Get Over It. 1) The New Yorker is a left-wing publication that's pro-Obama. 2) This cover is actually making fun of "ignorant Conservatives" who believe all these things about Obama. And 3) Where was all this outrage when cartoonists were making President Bush out to be a Nazi or a jackass or a retard for the past eight years? I was watching a piece about this on CNN Headline News and the pro-Obama guy they were talking to said that he's never seen anyone attacked during a campaign like Obama has been. All I could do was laugh and think "where the hell have you been for the past eight years"?

7 Dirty Politically Incorrect Words

As we all know, or at least anyone with any common sense anyway, political correctness has gotten out of hand. As witnessed by my two previous posts. Anyway, back in December of last year I did a post where I attempted to update George Carlin's famous "7 Dirty Words" bit. I've decided to add 7 new politically incorrect words to that list.

Black
How dare you. "Black" is the new "nigger". If you don't say "African American" you're a racist. This also applies to any other race or nationality. You'd better add the country in which the person lives in to it.

Midget
What a horrible word. It's "Little People" or "Dwarf" you insensitive ass.

Indian
"Native American". We're not savages anymore. I guess I need to change my name to Native American Chris.

Man or Woman
It's now "Person", "People" or "Human Being". And if you want to truly PC, it's "Hir" or "Ze". There is no long a need for a specific gender any more.

Disabled or Handicap
They're "Handicapable" or "Differently Abled".

Fat
I'm not "Fat", I'm "Big Boned" or "Differently Sized Person". Or if you like, "It's The Fault Of The Fast Food Companies, Not Theirs".

Politically Correct
Yes, PC is on it's way out. The new term is "Culturally Sensitive", or if you want to be totally CS, "Tolerant".

Now, just remember to use these new Culturally Sensitive words so as not to offend anyone and the world will be a much better place.

More PC Crap

"It was very tough not to be touched by him in some way," said Terri Schall, Sgt. Kenneth Schall's mother.

Kenneth Schall was enrolled at Glendale Community College and was studying to become a history teacher when the country was attacked on September 11, 2001. The event spurred him to join the Army. He served a four and a half month tour in Iraq in 2004 and returned in February of 2005.

Terri Schall last spoke to her son on Mother's Day in 2005. "He sounded great — tired — but he said he was doing OK", she said. Sgt. Kenneth Schall died when the Humvee he was riding in was involved in an accident in Yusafiyah, Iraq.

Along with his mother, Sgt. Schall is survived by his father and two younger siblings.

Don't Support Obama? You Racist

That's what Tulsa World Associate Editor Mike Jones seems to think anyway. In an editorial he wrote today entitled Just say what you mean, Jones talks about political mudslinging saying
Let's not be so naive to believe that rhetoric, false charges and name-calling have not always been and likely always will be an integral part of politics
And he's right. Whether we like it or not, it's always been there and will always be there. But then Jones targets Karl Rove and essentially calls him a racist. Rove tells Fox News that he believes that Obama is arrogant and Jones throws this out
That comment actually tells us more about Rove than it does Obama.

Nevertheless, this is one of the more underhanded and ugly attacks because it is subtle. Some factions in the McCain camp (probably not McCain himself) are using a code word. All you have to do is replace "arrogant" with "uppity" and that reveals the message some McCain supporters (or more likely simply Obama-haters or maybe Democrat-haters) are sending.

As for Rove and his buddies — the likes of whom we haven't seen since the Richard Nixon "Plumbers" — if you're going to attack Obama at least have the guts to say what you really mean. Just go ahead and say that Obama simply doesn't know his place
Yes, Mr. Jones, that's exactly what we mean. That stupid Colored man, who the hell does he think he is? He should be shining my shoes, not running for president. We've seen this type of thing since the primaries, if not before. Say anything negative about Obama and dolts in the media label you racist or a bigot. And it's going to ramp up now. Any negative story against him will be lambasted and dissected to find the "code words". Barack Obama will win this election, and the media will play a HUGE roll in it. It won't be because he's the best choice and the right person to lead this country, it will be because Republicans will come off as looking like we don't like him simply because he's black or he has a funny sounding name, *hint hint wink wink* Muslim. Something else Jones talks about in his piece.

Pray Or Pay

So this is what it means to be "culturally sensitive". Forced prayer to a God you may not believe in at school. Is this were the world is going? I wonder if this school's ever forced Muslim children to pray to Jesus Christ?
