THE TYPICAL REPUBLICAN FAMILY
The BBC is set to to profile a "typical" family of Republicans in Ohio to explain to people who live outside the United States why people voted the way they did Nov. 2 and how "American values" played a role. So, they're going to take this one family and have them represent the entire Republican party. Everything they do or say will reflect what we all do and believe? Does anyone else find this stupid?

Some of the things the BBC wants it's viewers to think this family represents about us all.

The crew started filming Friday. They followed Steve's two children, Corbin and Catherine, going to the Catholic schools they attend.

Hawksley said the BBC crew's day started with a prayer breakfast that included Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen, Fairfield County Municipal Court Judge David Trimmer and local pastor Russell Johnson.

Catherine told the interviewers that faith in family and in God were some of the most important things in her life.

What they're trying to doing is giving a false image to the party and the people in it. A stereotype if you will. I don't speak for the whole party, but I for one have never went to church. I've never read the bible. I don't pray. I don't like guns. I'm mixed race. I'm not a stereotype. They're trying to lump us into a singular image that they want everyone watching to believe is true. But I'm not surprised. It's the BBC for crying out loud. They're not known for fairness or honesty.

BEST AND WORST
I hate Sundays. Nothing to watch on t.v and no news. So I thought I would do another puff post. As any reader who's been reading my blog long enough will know, I love music. I've done many a post about songs and bands I like. So I thought I would do a post dealing with some of the best and worst covers of great songs out there.

Bad Covers
Limp Bizkit - The Who: Behind Blues Eyes. They really messed that song up.
Limp Bizkit - George Michael: Faith. Bizkit again. They took a good song a made it pure crap.
P. Diddy - The Police: Every Breath I Take. I hate rap.
Marilyn Manson - AC/DC: Highway To Hell. AAAAAAGGGHHHH, my ears.
The Cure - Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze. Huh?.
Hootie And The Blowfish - Led Zeppelin: Hey Hey What Can I Say? Can you say "wuss".

Hendrix and Zeppelin are in a class of their own when it comes to their music and covers. There's a lot of horrible Hendrix covers, but there's plenty more good covers of his music. It's like it was written just to be covered. Mainly by blues players. And Zeppelin, a lot of their music are covers of old blues songs. But that's true of many of the English bands in the 60's. Now, the good covers.

Good Covers
Jimi Hendrix - SRV & Double Trouble: Voodoo Child. Almost as good and the original.
Jimi Hendrix - Indigenous: Red House. Go to wal-mart.com and download the 12 minute live version if they have it. Awesome.
Jimi Hendrix - Buddy Guy: Red House. I told you about his songs being covered.
Jimmy Reed - Indigenous: Shame, Shame, Shame. Great blues song.
Jimmy Reed - Indigenous: Baby What You Do To Me. Same as Shame, Shame, Shame.
Don Williams - Eric Clapton: Tulsa Time. His live version is amazing. Download it.
John Lee Hooker - George Thurogood: One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer. Probably better than the original.
Freddy King - SRV & Jeff Beck: Going Down. Just like the one above, maybe better than the original.
Leadbelly - Nirvana: Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Slow and sad. Amazing cover.

Well, as you can see, I'm a huge fan of the blues. I could sit and talk about the music all day. Let me know some of your favorite or least favorite covers.
