ARTISTS OF THE MONTH: GEORGE THOROGOOD
& the Delaware Destroyers. Or just Destroyers if you like. One of the most underrated groups out there. Like many of the great bands of the 80's, George Thorogood & The Destroyers were kind of pushed to the side when the 90's hit. Which is a shame because this is some of the best music you'll ever hear. Good boogie blues/rock. Rockin' My Life Away is a very loose cover of a Jerry Lee Lewis song. If you're a fan and have this one by Thorogood, you still want to download this one. This is an alternate version that was released on their 30 Years Of Rock album. Faster song with slightly different lyrics. So download it, crank up your speakers and have some fun.

George Thorogood & the Destroyers.wma
From 1492 to 1998
I threw a rock 'n' roll party
On my last birthday
Feels good
Rockin' my life away
I'm movin' and groovin'
And I'm gettin' high night and day

Streamline, fleetline
Military brat
I got the general's daughter
Taught her where it was at
I'm rockin'
Rockin' my life away
I'm movin' and groovin'
And I'm gettin' stoned night and day

I know a gal from Texas
She chili pepper hot
She knows hot to reel it
And knows how to rock
I'm rockin'
Rockin' my life away
I'm movin' and groovin'
Havin' fun night and day

Yeah, I likes to party
And I like to have fun
So take 'em off and spread 'em baby,
Here I come
I'm rockin'
Rockin' my life away
I'm movin' and groovin'
And I'm partyin' night and day

Well, I like some long
And I like some lean
I like the way
That you shake that thing
I'm rockin'
Rockin' my life away
I'm movin' and groovin'
I'm breakin' ???? night and day

From 1492 to 1998
I throw a rock 'n' roll party
On every birthday
Feels good
Rockin' my life away
Yeah I'm movin' and groovin'
And I'm gettin' high night and day
I'm rockin'
Rockin'
I'm rockin'
Rockin' my life away
Well, I'm movin' and groovin'
I'm gettin' payed night and day.

I don't like it when George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers are referred to as George Thorogood and the Destroyers (because I grew up in that state). :)
