BUT I'M SURE IT WAS HARMLESS
Mahmoud Maawad, an Egyptian in the country illegally, was arrested for wire fraud and fraudulent use of a Social Security number. Upon searching his apartment authorities found a pilots uniform, a chart of Memphis International Airport and a DVD titled "How an Airline Captain Should Look and Act". Terrorist, I mean Mr. Maawad, had ordered over $3000 worth of other stuff, which included DVDs titled "Ups and Downs of Takeoffs and Landings," "Airplane Talk," "Mental Math for Pilots" and "Mastering GPS Flying". He was caught after he didn't pay $2,500 that he owed for the items. Terrorist, sorry, I mean Mr. Maawad has said
"My school is everything. I stay in this country for seven years; I stay for the school"
But for some reason the judge didn't believe him.
"It is hard for the court to understand why he has a large concentration of those items, and nothing else to indicate Mr. Maawad plans to stay in the community"

This is scary as hell. Now just think. For this one they were lucky enough to capture, how many are still out there planning things like this? 15? 20? 50? 100? 1000? Who knows. The real scary thing is, they won't be able to catch them all. We will be attacked again, it's only a matter of time.
Thanks John.

Yea.. I know...Za thinks Iam just paranoid. Another story another Muslim; but Iam just a paranoid nutcase. No link between terrorism and Islam...Move along nothing to see here folks..

I think you're paranoid, because you don't jump on the cases of corkies doing similar things.

You can bring up an infinite number of these stories about anyone - but no, let's highlight all the ones that are Muslims, and then make out that they're the problem people.

And honestly, this doesn't mean a damn thing about terrorism. Ever seen "Catch Me If You Can"? He might have been trying to pull that scam.

What it must be like to live in that delusional world of your Za. So what you're telling me is that he might not have been a terrorist, just a moronic ass that was planning on tricking people on an airplane into believing he was a captain just for jollies? Yeah, that would have been smart.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...I hate to break it to you Za; but that is always a duck.

Chris, do you remember how much money Frank Abagnale made on that scam? In 5 years, he spent more than $2.5 million.
It's not "pretending for jollies".

And no John, if we followed that kind of logic, any idiot could call a goose a duck.

Oh, and I should add, that it's only delusional to take a case with the barest of facts and construct some elaborate conspiracy theory from it all, without any investigation whatsoever.

Seriously, only an idiot jumps to conclusions like that.

Za, I believe it's called Acoms razor. So, which is it, that this guy is so stupid that he would, in this day and age we're living in, buy all this material just so he could make some money, not thinking that he would be caught or that he's a terrorist?

I will be sure and post my conclusions when the government brings him to trial and the evidence is presented. No doubt you will say he is being set up by the governement. Jumping to conclusions and being pro-active when defending our Nation are not the same thing no matter how much You try to twist it.

"Occam's razor" Chris, and it's on my side.

Firstly, if he wanted to do a terrorist attack, he wouldn't have to impersonate a captain, that's way too much effort. The 9/11 attackers were passengers, remember?
Secondly, a false social security number would not be needed if he wanted to merely pilot a plane once, would it?
Thirdly, why would any terrorist commit wire fraud? Just as an example, Al-Qaeda is funded by millionaires (bin Laden is a millionaire for instance). And committing wire fraud would INCREASE YOUR LIKELIHOOD OF BEING CAUGHT.

All of the above is more consistent with a con-artist than it is with a terrorist. And no, it's not stupid. It would be about as easy to do as back in Abagnale's day.

And John, I'm sure you wouldn't know what the fuck I'd say, since you're a clueless moron who believes I want to take down America.
