That's The Ninth Court Of Appeals For You

This is cruel and unusual punishment. You know, I would have thought that taking someone off the street, giving them a warm place to sleep, free food and a shower would be a good thing. Silly me.

Okay, I can't even begin to describe my reaction to reading this. Stammering is the best I can do.
"Because there is substantial and undisputed evidence that the number of homeless persons in Los Angeles far exceeds the number of available shelter beds at all times ... Los Angeles has encroached upon the Appellants' Eighth Amendment protections by criminalizing the unavoidable act of sitting, lying, or sleeping at night while being involuntarily homeless," she(Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw) wrote.
So they're involuntarily homeless? Has nothing to do with being lazy? Love that Liberal mind. This is a perfect example of the Left all over the world are so out of touch with reality. God forbid they should put the wild turkey down and try to do something.

Chris, let me give you a simple example.

A guy has two mortgages to pay off. He breaks his leg, and is out of work for at least a month, and can't afford to pay off what he owes.

His house gets reposessed simply because of an accident.

Life is like that. I have a friend who I caused to be inable to follow up her life's training simply because I poked her. She tripped, fractured her wrist and is no longer able to play cello properly. There are lots of people who no fault of their own are unable to get a job, are unable to afford a place to stay.

Laziness doesn't actually have anything to do with it. There are very few people who would willingly live on the street.

If you'd look into it, when you start with very little, it's very hard to start making enough to survive. An unspoken law of capitalism - no such thing as equal opportunity.

Oh, might I point out that you're disagreeing with yourself?

Firstly, you say it's good to help the homeless, then you say that the homeless are bludging the system.
