Criminals Help Criminals

This Was Brought To My Attention By Reader John K

I say charge them with aiding and abetting in criminal behavior.

'Cause helping people not die is a bad thing these days.

Chris, you wouldn't happen to subscribe to Bush's "compassionate conservatism" would you? I'm attempting to figure out what exactly it entails.

That's his phrase, not mine. I don't feel sorry for criminals.

Za; Aiding and abieting criminal activity is a Good thing as well?
What does it say of ones character that your very first act upon entering is that you break its laws. Helping those who break the law of America is itself a criminal act and speaks of the charcter of your liberalism and its followers.

Allowing people to die speaks worse of the character of your conservatism John.

Chris - you've never broken the law? Never gone over the speed limit? Never gone through a stop sign? Never downloaded something you shouldn't? Never given other people mp3s? And so on and so forth? Those are all criminal, but I'm perfectly willing to bet that you'd more than happily attempt to save your own skin.

What you're both attempting to say, is that because these people crossed an imaginary line, if they die it doesn't matter. THAT is far more criminal than what they're doing. And psychologically you're stepping into Antisocial Personality Disorders if you could maintain that stance while watching one of them die.

Wait a second, wait a second. Here we go Za.

The thing you don't get is that if you actually were classified with Antisocial Personality Disorder under those circumstances, you'd probably be committed.

You say you're for freedom and liberty, but you don't give a crap if people die. Right to life not in your constitutional values?

If I die in an accident because I crossed the "imaginary line" of having 4 beers instead of 2; and died while breaking the law of driving; Am I not still a criminal and would you shed a tear for me and try and send out thousands of people to help me break the law so I can drive drunk?
Za; Your appologes for criminal activity are infantile.

Nope. I've even said in the past that I don't believe in right to life. I believe in a right at a chance at life.

John, your example doesn't fit.
Driving drunk can't be undone. Crossing the border can.

If you had four beers and attempted to go out driving, I'd offer to give you a lift home - saving you the necessity of driving around while innebriated. Similarly, if a guy is crossing the border and dying, I'd give him medical help, food, water, whatever he needed to stay alive. That's not "helping him over the border", that's keeping him alive.

Whether or not he gets sent back afterwards isn't my business, but keeping him alive is.

Chris - if you believe in a right to a chance at life, then why are you against these people crossing the border? Or even worse, why don't you care about them dying, but you DO care about the people in the WTC dying back in 2001?

Because it wasn't their choice to be blown up by a plane, but it is these people's choice to try and cross a dangerous desert, with their kids in some instances, rather than do the smart thing and come into the US legally.

I feel bad if they die, yeah, that's why I support the Minutemen. They offer food and water but don't let them cross.

I was expecting the first half of that answer, I wasn't expecting the second half.

However, you do realise that the majority of illegal immigrants couldn't afford to cross over legally?

Christopher Lee said...

So that means we should just let anyone sneak over. Since you just blew off the disease argument, how about this one. Let's say that a man wanted in Mexico for murder makes his way across the border into the U.S. Don't we have the right to know that this person is in our country? Or what if someone wanted for raping a child sneaks in and moves into a neighborhood full of children. Don't those people have the right to know that he's there? But them coming in illegally, they'd have no idea. You can get a work visa, come into the U.S. legally and then apply for citizenship. They would be working the whole time their earning the legal status. It's not impossible to immigrate to America legally.

No, it means you should actually look at the situation and make policies that work, instead of policies that mean a hell of a lot of people would much rather just sneak across the border.

You're right - it's not impossible to immigrate. It's just very, very hard for some people.

Christopher Lee said...

Okay, how do you propose to make it easier?

Probably through one of those "amnesty" programs that Bush sugges- I mean hates so much.

Properly done it would make a fence completely unnecessary.
