The Da Vinci Code

This Cardinal Francis Arinze radical Muslim terrirtory. Cardinal Arinze is calling for Christians to bring charges against "The Da Vinci Code" book and upcoming movie because they offend the Catholic church. Now, I can understand a boycott, but criminal charges? That's taking it a little too far. That's only a few steps away from what's happening in Europe with the pictures of Mohamed. I'm with Opus Dei in thinking Sony Pictures should put a disclaimer on the film letting people know that it's a work of fiction, but criminal charges? Come on.

It's fairly akin to the attempt in Missouri to make Christianity the state religion earlier this year.

The resolution stated that only Christianity receives "justified recognition", and that only Christians will have their right to express their faith protected.

Kinda crazy.

yeah, I agree with you. I'm a Christian, and the book is a little offensive, but it's a very interesting tale that captures your attention. It is fiction, and based on someone's imagination and should be explained as such, but criminal charges? We may as well burn the book and every other book that offends us thus becoming like the nazi's.

Za, one of the very few times you and I agree on something.

I've seen the previews for it and it looks really good. I dunno if I have the attention span to read the book though. It does look fascinating as a 'what if?' scenario.

Well - being a Christian myself, this sort of thing rubs me the wrong way.
