Near his hometown, the flag flew at half-staff outside the East Concord Volunteer Fire Department, where Baker had been a junior firefighter. He joined the Army shortly after graduating from Springville-Griffith Institute in 1996 with the goal of making it his career, friends said.

"You might say it was his calling," said Lori Ploetz, a longtime family friend. "He was great at what he did. He was respected by his peers." Spc. Brian Baker was killed when a vehicle-borne IED detonated near his security patrol in Baghdad.

Spc. Baker leaves behind his parents, his wife, Amy, and two daughters who were born after his death.

Taxpayer Funded Infantcide

Reversing an eight-year-old limit on potentially life-saving science, President Barack Obama plans to lift restrictions Monday on taxpayer-funded research using embryonic stem cells. There have been no proven benefits from using embryonic stem cells, but there have been from using adult stem cells. Still befuddles me why the Left are so stuck on them. So now, thanks to our Great Leader, not only do I have to pay for furnishing the HQ of Homeland Security and broadband for rural areas, when I can't even get it for myself, but now I have to pay for something that I find abhorrently immoral and objectionable. Did you know that, thanks to Obama, American taxpayers now help pay for forced abortions in China, amongst other places, through the United Nations Population Fund? Population Fund. That just sounds like something the Nazi's would have come up with. God Bless Obama's America.

People are pissed that the government is screwing us over and over again so they're getting together to discuss and protest it. It's the very basis this country was founded on.

"No taxation without representation". They're taxing the shit out of us, but do you think they're representing us? Hell no. The only thing these corrupt bastards in Washington are representing are their own interests and bank accounts. If Obama's own cabinet don't have to pay their taxes, why do we?

Sgt. Stephen Howell


Sgt. Stephen Howell, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band percussionist, races a student at Palisades Elementary School in Pearl City, Hawaii during an 11-event circuit course Feb. 20. More than 20 Marines assisted local park volunteers with manning the different events.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

5 Years? I Think Not

A couple of years ago I replaced all my light bulbs with those CFL jobs. Not because they're eco friendly, but because they're supposed to save you money on your energy bill and last five years. Well, I've yet to see any savings and I just had one go out on me after only two years. Which, no matter how you look at it, is awesome. I haven't had to buy light bulbs for two years, but if they say five it should last five.
