Democracy In The Middle East

Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. - John Adams

Fear Not The Muslim Brotherhood

One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.

It's Not A Real Protest Until A Window Get's Broken

The G20 summit will be getting underway in Toronto and protesters are ready. We all know what kind of protests happen at events like this, what we need to watch is how our illustrious media handles them. Will they condemn them? Will they ignore them? Will they be indifferent? I know how I think they'll report on the violence and vandalism.

World Cup

USMNT32 teams from 32 nations around the world will meet in South Africa to take part in the world's biggest sporting competition. For four years they've waited for this moment. The whole world will be watching over the next month as the 32 will be whittled down to just one who will be crowed Best In The World. Will it be Brazil winning their sixth World Cup? Will it be Argentina or Italy or Spain? Will it be an underdog like the Ivory Coast or Japan or even the United States? Tomorrow on ABC the US takes on England in a game that had to happen. It was fate. Can the US overcome the odds and take down one of the powerhouses in world Football? Will this finally be Landon Donovan's time or will it be Edson Buddle's moment to shine? Will the US even make it out of the group stage this time?

Oh when the Yanks,
Goes marching in,
Oh when the Yanks go marching in,
I want to be in Sam’s Army,
When the Yanks go marching in

Israel Stands Alone

Wait, you mean people and news organizations jump to conclusions and condemn Israel before they have all the facts? Bull. You know, they scream for Israel's head within a heartbeat of whatever it was that actually happened, and yet, when a Palestinian walks into a crowded shopping center or a bus full of innocent Men, Women and Children with a bomb strapped to their chest that same outrage and anger is nowhere to be found. Where are the protests in front of the Palestinian embassy in England? Is there an embassy? I actually don't know. Where are the demonstrations and riots in Greece and France? Where is the U.N calling for inquiries?

Nuclear Iran?

Iranian figurehead, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has announced that Iran is now a nuclear state. Not sure how much of this is true, but it's now time to take a stand. How will the powers that be handle this? Will they continue with their toothless threats of sanctions? More than likely. I've said in the past that I don't have the answers. I don't know what the right thing to do is. But I happen to agree with Glenn Beck that attacking them would possibly be the worst thing we could do considering their views on the 12th Imam. Maybe working with the protesters to help overthrow their leadership and give them what Obama promised us. Hope and Change.

It's True Reform

Isn't it darling how this Reuters reporter tries to make it seem as if it's A-Jad's decision to add a woman to his cabinet rather than Khamenei's.

Bite Him On The Ass

God, you know this is going to come around one day and bite him on the ass when Chavez becomes a full fledged dictator like it did Rumsfeld. Which he's well on his way to becoming. Does he not think about what he's doing? First, well I say first but it actually just another in a long list of screw ups, it was Mexico and laying the blame on us for their ills and now this. When I first heard about this I actually thought he had fist bumped him.

"Yo, what's up dog?"
"Nothing, nothing. Just busy throwing people in prison for speaking their minds and calling for your demise."
"I heard that. Hit me up on Twitter @MoronPresident."
"You got it."

iDope

First some DVD's for the PM, and they can't even be played in England, and now an iPod for the Queen. And she already has one. God, I'd hate to be on Obama's Christmas list.

Human Achievement Hour

How did you celebrate Human Achievement Hour? For my part, I had two tv's running, some lamps and my computer. All great achievements in human ingenuity.

For The Love Of God, It's A T-Shirt

A British man was threated with arrest at Heathrow airport because he was wearing a shirt with a cartoon character that had a gun.

Maybe I should change the "America Is Dying" posts to "Common Sense Is Dying". What did they think, that he was giving people a warning that he was packing heat or something?

News Wrap-Up

The junta in Burma are still blocking aid from reaching the victims of the cyclone that hit the country last week.

The town that was Picher, Oklahoma was nearly wiped off the map on Saturday. But there's is a bizarre irony to the story. Pollution saved lives in Picher.
The lead and zinc mines that made Picher a booming town of about 20,000 in the mid-20th century closed decades ago; leftover waste has turned the area into an environmental disaster and a Superfund site.

Many families have moved away to escape the lead pollution, taking advantage of state and federal buyouts in recent years.
What was once a town of around 20,000 became a town of between 300-800 people before the storm on Saturday.

A 78-year-old blind man bowled a perfect game. 12 strikes in a row. I can't even bowl one.

7.8 magnitude earthquake hits China killing over 7,000 people.

Television viewership down since writers strike. I can believe that. TV shows have gotten dumber the past few years, with the rise of these "reality" shows. People are starting to get sick of them. Plus the original shows have also gotten dumber. There are 9 shows of tv that I watch, and only 4 of those are original shows, 5 are real reality shows. Like Jon & Kate Plus 8 and Deadliest Catch. Television sucks anymore.

House backs a 3.9% pay increase for troops. What they should do is take a pay cut themselves and give that to the troops. No way a Senator or Representative should be making FAR more than someone risking their life in a war zone.

Biofuels May Not Be So Clean

Gordon Brown is preparing for a battle with the European Union over biofuels after one of the government's leading scientists warned they could exacerbate climate change rather than combat it.

In an outspoken attack on a policy which comes into force next week, Professor Bob Watson, the chief scientific adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, said it would be wrong to introduce compulsory quotas for the use of biofuels in petrol and diesel before their effects had been properly assessed.
Story

I feel I need to clear something up. Some people seem to think that because I disagree with some of the methods of The Great Green Conspiracy that I'm against going green. No. I just want a viable alternative fuel source that works and is affordable. Because from what we've seen so far, not everyone can afford to put solar panels on their homes or buy a nice, new Prius for around $20,000+.

South Korea is set to offer people the ability to clone their dead dogs. Hang on, didn't the FDA already approve the use of cloned food here in the States?

Sharia Law In England

There are reports that indicate that Sharia courts have been in operation in England. I wonder how long it'll be before it starts happening here? If it hasn't already.

You Failed Before You Succeeded Before You Failed

Nancy Pelosi stated twice on Sunday that Iraq is a failure, but was quick to cover her ass stating that the troops have succeeded. There's something wrong with this. Well, there's two things wrong with this. 1) if Iraq is a failure how have the troops succeeded? We support the troops, just not what they do. And 2) too bad for NanPel al-Qaeda in Iraq doesn't agree with her.
That second document is a bitter 16-page testament written last October by a local al-Qaeda leader near Balad, north of Baghdad. “I am Abu-Tariq, emir of the al-Layin and al-Mashahdah sector,” the author begins. He goes on to describe how his force of 600 shrank to fewer than 20.

“We were mistreated, cheated and betrayed by some of our brothers,” he says. “Those people were nothing but hypocrites, liars and traitors and were waiting for the right moment to switch sides with whoever pays them most.”

Three Little Pigs Offensive To Muslims And Asians In England

A story based on the Three Little Pigs has been turned down from a government agency's annual awards because the subject matter could offend Muslims.

The digital book, re-telling the classic fairy tale, was rejected by judges who warned that "the use of pigs raises cultural issues".
This isn't Muslim's doing. This is a bunch of whiny, ass Liberals with no backbones. Can you image if people were to ban everything that could be offensive to someone? "Yes Virgina, There Is A Santa Claus". "Are You There God? It's Me, Margret". Grand Theft Auto. Grey's Anatomy. Celine Dion? All politicians? Huh. Maybe there is something to be said for banning offensive material after all.

Alexander Sdvizhkov Sentenced

An update to my post about former editor of Zgoda, Alexander Sdvizhkov, on trial for reprinting the Danish Muhammad cartoon. He's been sentenced to three years in prison.

UPDATE
If you'll check out the comments, you'll see a link to a site called Muslims Against Sharia. Go there and check out the post. They have a whole list of people who are being persecuted.

al-Qaeda? More Like al-White-a

Bad puns aside, in an effort to make it even harder to fight the war on terror al-Qaeda has been busy in Briton recruiting Whites to fund, plan and carry out attacks in the U.K. While they may be cowardly, heartless killers, they're not stupid. A White man is less likely to be looked at suspiciously. But don't look at this be surprised. Remember, these are people who use children to carry out bomb attacks.
