DAMN MUSIC COMPANY
"Some leading music labels are in talks with online retailers to raise wholesale prices for digital music downloads in an attempt to capitalize on burgeoning demand for legal online music.

The moves, which suggest the labels want a bigger slice of the fledgling markets spoils, has angered Steve Jobs, the Apple Computer chief executive behind the iTunes online music store.

But music executives expressed caution about their ability to push through unilateral price increases. Among the biggest groups, Universal Music and Sony BMG are known to be particularly reluctant to disrupt the market for downloads.
One top label said it would not raise wholesale prices now because the market was not yet mature enough for an increase. The three other music labels - which also include EMI and Warner - refused to comment.

Analysts, meanwhile, are warning that price rises could exacerbate internet piracy, which is thought to cost the industry about $2.4bn (£1.2bn) a year.
Music industry executives said introductory wholesale prices for digital tracks had been set low to stimulate demand, but Apple's success had prompted concern that they may now be too low.

The effort suggests several labels believe demand for online music is robust enough to withstand higher prices, despite the fact that online sales are estimated to account for about 2 per cent of total music sales.

Michael McGuire, analyst at Gartner, said the move could backfire because consumers who buy music over the internet are accustomed to paying 99 cents or less for downloads.

Wholesale prices are thought to be about 65 cents. "It seems to me to be singularly bad timing," he said, adding that an increase could send fans back to underground services where they could get illegal music tracks free."
Screw that. I get a lot of my music from Wal-Mart.com for 88 cents. If I have to go back to P2P downloading, I will. They better not raise the prices. They're not loosing any money because of the legal downloads. In fact, they're making more money then they were before digital downloads.

JUSTICE IN THE COURT
It seems that a special cage is being build for Saddam when he goes to trial. While he is in court during his trial, he will be forced to sit in a "Hannibal Lecter" type cage that is being build in the courtroom, which happens to be inside one of his former palaces. Now that's funny right there. How long before we get the bleeding hearts crying for the "cruel and unusual" treatment of Saddam? Instead of a cage they should have Saddam on the rack. Every time he denies committing murder or being a terrorist, turn the wheel one notch.

YOU CAN'T WEAR THAT
A Florida Senior's pictures has been left out of the year book because of what she was wearing. Was she wearing a bikini? Was she wearing a hot pink teddy? No, she was wearing a tuxedo. The Clay County School Board says it's because she didn't follow the dress code. Boys in tux's girls in a gown-like drape and pearls.
"Because that's me, you know. That represents me. The drape does not," Davis said. "They're not accepting me, that's the whole reason we're here"

I'm with her. If she's not comfortable wearing the dress, why should she. If my school had made us wear tux's and dresses, I would have worn the same thing that I did wear. T-shirt, shorts and sandals. I don't dress up like this.

NOW THAT'S A SURPRISE
The truce that was agreed upon by "militants" has been broken by a Palestinian freedom fighter terrorist. A homicide bomber walked into a Tel Aviv night club Friday night and killed 4 people wounding at least 50. Here's something that I didn't find all that shocking. In the article, the only mention of the word terror is done by Israeli officials and Condi Rice. Not once does the reporter for Reuters call these murders terrorists. Rather he calls them "A cell of the militant Islamic Jihad group in the West Bank". How nice of him to water down this description. Political correctness must reign supreme.

JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER
As much as I hate "Mental Ward" Churchill, the longer his story keeps going the better it gets. Along with being a hatemongering fake Injun, he's now a rip off artist as well. Take a look at the picture below. It was done by Thomas E. Mails

Now look at this one done by Ward Churchill in 1981 that he's been passing of as an original

Now read this from the News 4 Colorado website. It's what took place between Churchill and a reporter named Raj Chohan
"The following text is a transcription from CBS4's footage of the exchange between Chohan and Churchill on Thursday in the hallway outside his office.

'Get that camera out of my face,' Churchill said.

'This is an artwork we've got called 'Winter Attack.' It looks like it was based on a Thomas Mails painting; it looks like you ripped it off. Can you tell us about that?' Chohan asked.

That prompted Churchill to take a swing at Chohan while he held a stack of papers in his hand.

The exchange continued:

Chohan: 'Sir, that's assault, you can't do that. Can I ask you about this? It looks like you copied it.'

Churchill: 'I was just grabbed by the arm. And that (camera) gets out of my face.'

Chohan: 'Sir, we're allowed to take these pictures, this is a public space.'

Churchill: 'You're not allowed to grab be by the arm.'

Chohan: 'He didn't touch you sir, we've got it all on tape. Sir, this is called Winter Attack. It's a serigraph by you. It looks like it was copied from Thomas Mails artwork. Can we talk to you about that please?'"
Looks like the name "Mental Ward" Churchill is very appropriate. Freedom of Speech, so long as Churchill agrees with it.

RANDOM LYRICS
I'll give you black sensations up and down your spine
If you're into evil you're a friend of mine
See my white light flashing as I split the night
'Cause if good's on the left, then I'm stickin' to the right

I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's puttin' up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you

GENUINE REDSKIN
John K sent this picture to me. Well, not this exact one. I felt it needed some work, but it's the same thing. We've all seen those Holiday Inn commercials where the guy goes, "I'm not a real doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn". Well, it seems "Mental Ward" Churchill is now doing his own lodging commercials.
