Below is my position on the Nolan Chart. There's no option to share it so I just had to take a screen shot. It's only 10 questions but I had to sit and think about some of them and try to figure out what I really believe in regard to some of the issues. Gotta say, I'm inching fairly close to anarchy there.

President Obama has signed a one-year extension of parts of the Patriot Act. So where are the people who were screaming for blood a few years ago? In fact, where are the mass protests against the war that we saw just a few years ago? Huh.

I'm going to tell you a story that you probably won't care about. But read anyway if you want. One day I decided to read Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" saga all the way through. All seven books back to back to back and so on. So I grabbed the first book, "The Gunslinger" and began reading. That was in April of 2008 and I finished the seventh, and final, book last night. That is almost two years of my life spent reading this story. Now that might not mean a whole lot to anyone else, but it does me. When I think back to all the things that have happened in the world, and my life, in the past two years, to think that in that time I've been reading this story almost blows my mind. I only read them at night before I went to sleep so it became somewhat of a night time ritual. I'm kind of sad for it to end. If you've read these books then you know just how truly great they are. And if you've never read them, I urge you to do so. Other stories get all the hype; "Twilight", "LOTR", "Harry Potter", but "The Dark Tower" tops them all. And after reading them the way I did I have a whole new appreciation for them.

The Man in Black fled across the desert, and the Gunslinger followed...

The arrogance of this man. Because he's the president he's somehow more important? Pompous ass. I watched a few minutes of this dog and pony show and had to turn it. The only part I saw was Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn get two, maybe three, minutes to speak then some guy from California get what had to be ten minutes to ramble on. What the hell? Not sure why then even did this stupid thing. The plan Obama wants is going to get rammed trough. It was a farce. And how did this issue become the most important issue in America? Don't we have more pressing things to deal with?

I had a dream last night that I was back in school, the horror, and I had to give a speech about President Andrew Jackson. Not my favorite president. Anyway, during this dream I came to an actual epiphany of sorts. We all know, or at least I hope we do, about the Trail Of Tears. While most people associate it with the Cherokee tribe, there were others who suffered through these death marches, it's just that the Cherokee Trail Of Tears was the largest and most costly. Anyhoo, in the dream I realized that because of Andrew Jackson I almost wasn't here. Something like 15,000 Cherokee, not sure of the exact number, were forced off their land and moved across the country, and of those some 4,000 died. At least one of my ancestors survived this horrific event and because of that miracle I am here today. If he/she had died... It's amazing and a little scary to think about.
