To Hell With The Name

Of all the real dangers we have to worry about in this war, this is what is being argued over? What do call the damn thing? I hang my head in shame of our "leaders". These whiny little piss-ant assholes, Republicans as well as Democrats, are more concerned about image and politics than actually protecting us. And what's worse? We voted for them. I'm starting to see why we have such a low turnout on election days.

Maj. William D. Chesarek, Jr.
Royal Air Force's 847th Naval Air Squadron, Commando Helicopter Force


Maj. William D. Chesarek, Jr. has done something no other U.S. service member has done since WWII. On March 21 of this year, Maj. Chesarek was awarded the British Distinguished Flying Cross, by Queen Elizabeth, for saving lives and in recognition for his bravery during combat operations in Iraq. Maj. Chesark was assigned as an exchange officer with the Royal Air Force's 847th Naval Air Squadron, Commando Helicopter Force in 2005 and was the pilot of the RAF’s Lynx Mk7 helicopter.

On the evening of June 10, 2006, Chesarek was providing radio communication relay for British ground troops conducting a company-sized search operation near Amarah, Iraq. Listening to radio transmissions, he overheard that a vehicle involved in the operation had became disabled and a crowd of insurgents was firing small arms and rocket-propelled grenades at the company.

According to his award citation, "Chesarek elected to fly low over the area in an attempt to distract the crowd and if possible, to engage the insurgents." Because the crowd was so close to the ground troops, instead of engaging his machine gun, he "opted instead to provide bold, harassing, very low level flight over the area in an attempt to disperse the crowd."

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

England has become a scary place to be.

But the same department deliberately avoided teaching the Crusades at Key Stage 3 (11- to 14-year-olds) because their balanced treatment of the topic would have challenged what was taught in some local mosques

I wonder if they have any qualms about teaching evolution because it challenges what Christian students are taught in their churches. My guess... no. Why doesn't they just change their name from England to New Mecca and be done with it. God help us if America ever starts looking like this. But I'm afraid it's only a matter of time.

Top 7 Signs Of Spring

Below is a list of things that will help you know when Spring has really sprung. In case you need help.

7. Gas prices go up. Went from $1.98 to $2.50 in less than three months.

6. The weather starts to warm up. We've had some upper 70's, but it could get near 90 on Monday.

5. Thunderstorms. Depending on what part of the country you live in. But, I've already talked about those.

4. Cookouts. I've already had three so far. Love a good grilled burger with some oregano and Mrs. Dash. Yum.

3. Everything turns green. With all the rain we've had over the past two days alone, things really busted out. Also, when we had those bad ice storms I said that I thought my hedge had bit the dust. It didn't. It exploded a couple of weeks ago with new growth.

2. Allergies. Mine haven't hit, yet. Nor has my dog's.

1. Mowing the lawn. Which I got to do today. Woo-hoo. Nothing like the smell of gas on your hands and frayed nerves because the damn mower won't start. Apparently I hadn't primed it enough to get the gas flowing through the carb.
