Strength, perseverance and determination is how you would describe the family of SSgt. Keith Maupin. Because even though their son has been missing now for almost three years, his parents still haven't given up hope that he's still alive. Said his father, Keith Maupin, "I'm saying it ain't over till the fat lady sings and when she sings, I'm going to choke her. That's what I say. They're going to find Matt." His mother, Carolyn, was quoted as saying, "We're to keep our hope up. And praying until they can prove to us 100 percent either way. And that's what I'm going to do. And I realize we only have a 50/50 chance here, but I'm not going the low road. I'm going the high road"

SSGt. Maupin, who was PFC. Maupin when he was capture and has since received two promotions, was reported MIA when his fuel convoy came under attack near the Baghdad International Airport. Along with Maupin was Sgt. Elmer Krause and seven employees of U.S. contractor Kellogg, Brown & Root. All of whom were either rescued or escaped. Seven days later, on April 16, Al-Jazeera aired a video tape of Maupin in which he was forced to admit that he was went to Iraq unwillingly. Then on June 28, 2004, Al-Jazerra reported that PFC. Maupin had been executed by a group calling themselves Persistent Power Against the Enemies of God and the Prophet. But no concrete proof has surfaced either way.

SSgt. Keith "Matt" Maupin remains the only U.S. solider unaccounted for in Iraq. His parents have created a website called Yellow Ribbon Support Center if you would like to check it out. And while most in the media have forgotten Keith Maupin, Wednesday Hero hasn't.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

Hypocrisy, Thy Name Is Music

How do you combat global warming? Why, you throw a concert that spans the entire planet, Antarctica included, and goes one for 24-hours straight. That's how. Think about it. This concert will take place in July. For the Northern hemisphere, at least, that's Summer. All the Captain Planets will need their air conditioners. Not to mention all the electricity that will be needed to power their trailers, amps, guitars, lights, microphones, pyro, the television cameras and what not. But wait, according to the Wikipedia article,

Organizers have stated that the venues will utilize on-site power generation, efficient methods of energy utilization and sustainable facilities management in an effort to minimize environmental impact

So maybe I'm wrong. But at least we have the fuel that will be needed to fly these carbon credit eco-warriors to their venues. How else is Korn and Oasis going to get to Australia and the Black Eyed Peas going to get to the U.K.? Swim? And the fuel that the concerned concert goers will need to drive to the shows. But I'm sure it's a small price to pay to bring awareness to the damage us common folk are causing.

But, hell Washington. Don't actually try to get serious about the border problems. I mean, it's not like it's your job to protect us or anything. No. Your job is to talk and bluster(same thing I know), give yourselves pay raises, attack the other side and waste our money on things like "fact finding missions". To actually get off your rich asses and do something that's not for political or personal gain? That's not why you're there. That's not why we elected you.

"My little Johnny can't spell 'school', but at least he can listen to Jay-Z on the go". Why do the morons in government, whether it's local or federal, insist on being so damn stupid? Those Evil Occupying Buddhists

There's a report that an al-Qaeda linked group tried to assassinate the Dalai Lama. Now, why would they do this? He's never killed a Muslim. He's never invaded a Muslim country. And my knowledge he's never drawn a picture of Mohamed. So would they target what may be the most peaceful man on the planet? That's just not rational. Oh. Read the last line of the piece.
