Wednesday Hero

This Weeks Post Was Suggested By Kathi

Kevin Baker
Kevin Baker
U.S. Navy

Kevin George Baker, a disabled Navy veteran, had been riding his hand-propelled bicycle from his hometown through Washington, D.C. and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Marseilles, Illinois to support a new flag designed to honor fallen members of the military. His trip began at his home on Saturday, March 7 and sadly ended on March 13 when he passed away in his sleep. Baker, who is unable to use his legs due to a neurological impairment, was flying the Honor and Remember Flag from his bike and encouraged people along the way to sign a petition urging Congress to adopt the flag as a new national symbol by passing HR Bill 1034.

You can read the rest of Baker's story here

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

Targeted By The Government

Read Master Of None's plight with the IRS.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley suggested that AIG executives should take a Japanese approach toward accepting responsibility for the collapse of the insurance giant by resigning or killing themselves.
I suggest, you know, obviously, maybe they ought to be removed," Grassley said. "But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they'd follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I'm sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide.
Going by his standards, if AIG execs should resign or commit Seppuku because of the way their spending OUR tax dollars then so should most of Congress. Including Sen. Grassley himself.

So, Sir, here is your Tanto. Get to work.

Yet a wave of energy companies has in the last few months announced plans to move to Switzerland -- mainly for its appeal as a low-tax corporate domicile that looks relatively likely to stay out of reach of Barack Obama's tax-seeking administration
Gee, who would have seen this coming? These ungrateful corporate pigs. Don't they know that overtaxing them is good for state?
No wonder it's so cold outside today. Hell has frozen over. I actually agree with a move Obama is considering.
President Obama weighed in Wednesday on the escalating drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that he was looking at possibly deploying National Guard troops to contain the violence but ruled out any immediate military move.
If you've been following the few news stories the media has done on Mexico, or the great reporting Glenn Beck has done, then you know it's a war zone down there and the situation has gone much further than Pablo crossing over for a better job. The drug cartels essentially run that country and it's spilling over here. There are people along the Mexican side of the border who are armed just as well as our military. The border guards and Minute Men can't fight that.
