"It's a very dangerous mission," Major General Myles Deering said. "They all knew that going in, but that doesn't make it any easier. And we all suffer a little bit with the losses that they have had."It's been almost a daily thing to turn on the 5:00 news and hear another report of an Oklahoma Soldier either killed or being laid to rest and sadly I don't think we've seen the last just yet. God bless these Men and their families.
Major General Myles Deering says the 45th is spread out all over eastern Afghanistan and they're engaging in frontline combat.
In the last couple of weeks Oklahoma's 45th Infantry has lost seven soldiers while on deployment in Afghanistan. That's double what they lost since September 11, 2001.
