SUNDAY BLUES
I don't want to be in some big beautiful place that nobody want me, because I play the blues.
Luther Allison

This week is something a little different. It's still the blues, but it's more of a cousin of the blues. Zydeco. If you've never heard Zydeco music, then you're missing out. Great Cajun form of the blues. Zydeco is music that makes you get up and dance. Even the whitest white boy would get up and dance to this stuff. This week Darcey is profiling a song by Sonny Landreth called Zydeco Shuffle. I haven't heard Landreth's stuff, but I was listening to some samples and it's amazing. He, Darcey, gives you another suggestion to check out, as will I. Go look for Buckwheat Zydeco. The king, if you ask me. Look for a song called Put In The Pocket off of his album Tomorrow's Zydeco. This may be the best example of the genre. So, head over, download Zydeco Shuffle, and Laisser Le Bon Temp Rouler!
