Wednesday Hero

This weeks Wednesday Hero was nominated by Silke(See-Ka)

Spc. Joe Darby
United States Army
26-years-old from Boswell, Pennsylvania
372nd Military Police Company

Spc. Joe Darby is the man who brought to light the events that took place at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

From The AP
Darby worked evenings after school. He attended North Star High, then left to study forestry at Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School.

After he married his wife, Bernadette, the couple moved to Virginia, where he worked as an auto mechanic before enlisting.

(Gilbert)Reffner (former neighbor) described Darby as polite and respectful. He said the family had little money when he was growing up. "He didn't have much at all," Reffner said. "But he was brought up properly. He was brought up to know right from wrong."

These brave men and women risk their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

If you have a loved who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces, and would like for me to profile them as a Wednesday Hero, I would be proud to. Just email me with some info and a photo.
We Have Every Right To Dream Heroic Dreams.
