The Great Ice Storm Of 2007, Pt. 2

As you know, Oklahoma is one of the states that's covered in ice after this huge storm has moved through. Below are a few pictures I took. I tried to get one of the ice on my porch to show just how thick it really is, 1-1/2", but my camera's not very good and it didn't come out too well. This is a pretty bad one. I've only seen one worse than this and that was over 15 years ago. At least I haven't lost power or water.

Looks like snow, but that's a solid sheet of ice on the car.

My poor hedge. The last storm we had last month damn near killed it, this one will. I hate to have to rip it out this spring.

Where are you at in OK? I'm in Sapulpa and we didn't get it TOO bad... I was able to make it to work today.

You really got it bad up there. Seems like the ice storm rather puckered out by the time it got to Central Texas. Our icicles look look like the ice Queen ran out of water. I'll be posting about it this evening.

Both you and I are lucky, Indian Chris. Many folks don't have power. Even though the ice is not much here, for which I am grateful, it's very, very cold for this part of the country. It's going to be even colder this evening. I hope you have a generator just in case you do lose power! I feel sorry for your poor Hedge too.

I'll package up a bit of our 48 degree (near LAX) weather and ship it to you. Looks like you can use it.

And people complain about global warming...
