SSgt. Matt Maupin Found

In April of last year, Wednesday Hero profiled SSgt. Keith "Matt" Maupin who had went missing in Iraq in April of 2004. Sad news. SSg. Maupin's remains have been found.
"My heart sinks, but I know they can't hurt him anymore," Keith Maupin said after receiving word about the remains of his son, who went by Matt.

The Army didn't say how or where in Iraq his son's remains were discovered, only that the identification was made with DNA testing, Maupin said. A shirt similar to the one his son was wearing at the time of his disappearance was also found.

Obama Misspeaks

Barack Obama has claimed in the past that the Kennedy family is partially responsible for him even being born. He's claimed that the Kennedy's donated money for a 1959 airlift of 81 Kenyan students to the U.S. One of those students, claims Sen. Obama, was his father. One problem. The Kennedy's didn't make a donation until 1960. A year after Obama, Sr. had arrived in the country. He's also claimed that his parents met because of the events in Selma, Alabama in 1965. Four years after he was born.
So don’t tell me I don’t have a claim on Selma, Alabama
He doesn't.

Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.

Because, Lord knows, there's no couples out there that are unable to have children of their own who would be willing to adopt that child and love it rather than see it rotting in the ground.

The World Is Flat & The Moon Landing Was Fake

The Great Green God, Al Gore, has compared people who don't drink his "man made global warming" Kool-Aid to people who believe the moon landing was fake or who use to believe the world was flat.
Confronted by Stahl with the fact some prominent people, including the nation's vice president, are not convinced that global warming is manmade, Gore responds: "You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they're almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat," says Gore. "That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off," he tells Stahl.
A tiny, tiny minority? I don't think it's all that tiny. You see, Al Gore is like the people who live in New York and California. All they see is their little piece of the country and don't realize what it's like the vast wasteland in between. His world(views) is the only one. The real truth.

So, to recap, us stupid people who are blind to the truth have now been compared to holocaust deniers, moon landing kooks and flat Earthers. Awesome.

Soldiers' Angels Living Legends Team
Soldiers' Angels Living Legends Team
May No Soldier Go Unloved

Living Legends began in May 2005 with a very small team of seven dedicated angels. The team's mission was to let the families and friends of fallen heroes know that we were here to support them and to honor their loved one. At the same time, they had to make sure that they were sensitive to what the family was going through. While this team has grown tremendously, they have worked very hard to maintain that same level of dedication and sensitivity. This team is staffed with trained volunteers who carry out a very difficult mission for Soldiers' Angels. Due to their dedication, Soldiers' Angels is able to honor those heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and to pay their respects and offer their deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones grieving the painful loss of their son or daughter; husband or wife; brother or sister; mom or dad; aunt or uncle; their friend.

For more information on the Soldiers' Angels Living Legends Team, you can visit their site.

Liar, Liar, Pantsuit On Fire

Clinton "Truth" - We went to Bosnia and when we arrived we had to dodge sniper fire. I was brave that day. I'm ready to lead the country.

Actual Truth - Nothing happened.

A Clinton lied? No way.

Jeez. Obama attends a racist church for half his life and Clinton tells one of the biggest fish stories of all time. You know, McCain is looking better and better all the time. They like to talk about experience and "Ready On Day One". McCain is the only one with any experience and he is actually ready on day one. My opposition to him is starting to loosen a little.
Gordon Brown is preparing for a battle with the European Union over biofuels after one of the government's leading scientists warned they could exacerbate climate change rather than combat it.

In an outspoken attack on a policy which comes into force next week, Professor Bob Watson, the chief scientific adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, said it would be wrong to introduce compulsory quotas for the use of biofuels in petrol and diesel before their effects had been properly assessed.

I feel I need to clear something up. Some people seem to think that because I disagree with some of the methods of The Great Green Conspiracy that I'm against going green. No. I just want a viable alternative fuel source that works and is affordable. Because from what we've seen so far, not everyone can afford to put solar panels on their homes or buy a nice, new Prius for around $20,000+.

The Story That Won't Die

And nor should it. Some of you may remember DeoDuce. She has a Myspace page and she posted this on there a few days ago. I wanted to put it up here because I think it's a good piece. There's one part where she says "we Whites". She's not White so just ignore that part.

I throw up in my mouth a little every time I hear Obama on the radio. I seriously can’t believe people are falling for his complete load of crap. I am all for racial equality and eliminating racism (on both sides), but Obama is possibly the biggest sham known in American history. He attends Trinity United (for 20 years!!), which teaches an extremist afro-centric theology that has nothing to do with the actual Bible. The pastor (more like charlatan), Jeremiah Wright, uses sexual gestures and profanity on the pulpit, which is downright blasphemous. Wright also has frequently preached anti-white, anti-US sermons which many of you have probably already heard. Obama has vaguely "denounced" some of Wright’s comments, but as we heard in his speech on race yesterday, refuses to outright disown or disavow Wright’s involvement in his life. Nay, he calls Wright "family." Obama’s donations to Trinity, long-time attendance of Trinity, marriage at Trinity, childrens’ baptisms at Trinity, and the fact that Wright was on Obama’s campaign as a "spiritual advisor" simply shows that Obama either thinks Trinity’s philosophy is not a big deal, or he agrees with it.

Can you imagine if it were a WHITE senator running for President who attended a church that preached whites-only theology? He would be violently protested and be laughed out of the room, by blacks AND whites.

Obama tried to justify black rage in his last speech by saying we whites just don’t understand Wright because of all the racism blacks have experienced. Well, you know what? I’ve been the victim of racism. My maiden name is Arabic and I’ve been called a "sand nigger," "towel head," "terrorist," and a "camel f*****." After 9-11 my family got prank phone calls from random people looking up Arab names in the phone book. I get searched everytime I get on a plane. I was on the government’s terrorist "watch list" because of my last name. I got heckled in high school after 9-11. So, I sort of understand racism a little bit, but I don’t take out my rage and say "God d*** America," and I don’t make sexual gestures when referring to the US government. I, of all people, am more closely related to the Iraq war than most. But I don’t turn my past injustices into rage. I don’t buy into the victim mentality that Obama is propagating. I don’t want reperation for being called the n-word because I know life isn’t fair.

I love black people. I think they are a strong race that has survived numerous evils. I was talking to a little old lady at our local Wal-Mart and she once told me some white guy called her a "nigger." I told her if I ever heard anyone call her that I would stand up for her and make sure the offending person knew what a jerk they were for saying that.

In the end, Obama and Wright and Trinity are only serving to fan the flames of racism and victimization; they are keeping racism alive because it is their identity. Wright’s words and actions (traveling to Libya with the openly-anti-Semitic Farrakhan), only serve to spread the message of hate and bile, not the message of the Bible.

The Bible says we are known for the fruits we bear. In other words, a true Christian will have good qualities, and a false witness will bear poor qualities. I have a hard time doubting that Wright is a true Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ, because Wright’s life and the fruits he bore as a pastor were exactly what Jesus preached against.

BaracKKK Obama Shoves His Foot In A Little Deeper

The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know - there's a reaction in her that's been bred into our experiences that don't go away and sometimes come out in the wrong way and that's just the nature of race in our society
So, according to Obama, the "typical White person" is racist? I don't think I'm racist. I may be a little prejudiced at times, but not racist. Just keep digging that hole a little deeper, son. Wait. Son? Is that racist?
Story

You know, the guy behind me is a typical black guy. I see lots of watermelon rinds and KFC buckets in his trash. And the girl that lives across the street is a typical Asian woman. She had dents all in her car. And I'm your typical Indian. Always drunk off my ass.

New Polls

John McCain now leads both Hilldebeest and BaraKKK Obama in the polls. Now, I don't look at polls. They're dumb and pointless, but I like this one. While Democrats are busy fighting each other over who's racist and who's not, Republicans get to sit back and watch the fun. Obama's "I am God, worship me" veneer is washing off and we're seeing the real man underneath for the first time and Hillary is still Hillary. This election held little interest for me for the longest time, but it's finally getting good.
This has been talked about for sometime, but now we can add a new voice telling lower income Americans to go to hell.
A Michigan congressman wants to put a 50-cent tax on every gallon of gasoline to try to cut back on Americans' consumption.

Polls show that a majority of Americans support policies that would reduce greenhouse gases. But when it comes to paying for it, it's a different story.

Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., wants to help cut consumption with a gas tax but some don't agree with the idea, according to a new poll by the National Center for Public Policy Research.
I'm sure Rep. DickDingell can afford to pay an extra .50 cents, but many of us can't. Here in my part of Oklahoma, we still have some of the lowest priced gas in the country, around $3/gallon, but if it goes any higher my mom won't be able to afford to drive.

A Win For Common Sense

Almost two years ago I posted about Geno's Steaks in Philly implimenting an "Order In English" policy. They were challenged and on it and won.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The owner of a famous cheesesteak shop did not discriminate when he posted signs asking customers to speak English, a city panel ruled Wednesday.

In a 2-1 vote, a Commission on Human Relations panel found that two signs at Geno's Steaks telling customers, "This is America: WHEN ORDERING 'PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH,'" do not violate the city's Fair Practices Ordinance.

Spc. Monica Lin Brown
Spc. Monica Lin Brown
19 years old from Lake Jackson, Texas
4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team

Army Spc. Monica Lin Brown has done something only a very few female soldiers in American history have ever done. She's been awarded the Silver Star.

Brown saved the lives of fellow soldiers after a roadside bomb tore through a convoy of Humvees in the eastern Paktia province of Afghanistan in April 2007. "I did not really think about anything except for getting the guys to a safer location and getting them taken care of and getting them out of there."

"We stopped the convoy. I opened up my door and grabbed my aid bag," Brown said.

She started running toward the burning vehicle as insurgents opened fire. All five wounded soldiers had scrambled out.

"I assessed the patients to see how bad they were. We tried to move them to a safer location because we were still receiving incoming fire," Brown said. "So we dragged them for 100 or 200 meters, got them away from the Humvee a little bit," she said. "I was in a kind of a robot-mode, did not think about much but getting the guys taken care of."

For Brown, who knew all five wounded soldiers, it became a race to get them all to a safer location. Eventually, they moved the wounded some 500 yards away and treated them on site before putting them on a helicopter for evacuation.

"I did not really have time to be scared," Brown said. "Running back to the vehicle, I was nervous (since) I did not know how badly the guys were injured. That was scary."

The military said Brown's "bravery, unselfish actions and medical aid rendered under fire saved the lives of her comrades and represents the finest traditions of heroism in combat."

And who says women can't serve on the front lines?

Going Green Hurts The Poor

Have you been to the grocery store lately? It's freakin' crazy. And here's why.
As if a bear market, credit crunch, energy crisis and city financing emergency were not enough for one year, experts say the world is now facing down the barrel of the worst catastrophe of all: famine.

The very idea that the modern world could run out of food seems ludicrous, but that is the flip side, or cause, of the tremendous recent increase in the cost of raw wheat, corn, rice, oats and soybeans. Food prices are not escalating because speculators have run them up for sport and profit, but because accelerating demand in developing nations, biofuel production and poor harvests in some areas have made basic foodstuffs truly scarce.

In energy circles, folks who warn about the beginning of the end of cheap fossil fuels talk about "peak oil" as a point we have dangerously and expensively crossed. Likewise, you can now add "peak wheat" to your political and investment lexicon. And it's a lot worse.
But don't expect the Cult Of Green to tell you this.

Best Line Ever

As most of you know, I also post over at Hooah Wife. Well, if you'll remember a few days ago I did a post called "The Anti-Freedom Left Have Gone Over The Edge". A commenter on that post over at Hooah Wife wrote the following response.

Those dirty hippies would have an easier time shoving a wet noodle up a wild cat’s ass than trying to cage a Marine.

It just doesn't come any better than that.

35 years ago, what may be the greatest album ever recorded was released her in the U.S. It spent a staggering 741 weeks(14 years) in the Billboard Top 200. 26 years on one Billboard chart or another. No other album is even close to that. It is the 6th best selling album of all time with 40+ million sold worldwide. I don't know how many in the in U.S. In 1998 it was at 15+ million. It still, to this day, sells around 9,000 copies a week. In 2003, Rolling Stone declared it the 43rd greatest album of all time. In 2006, viewers and listeners of the Australian Broadcasting Company voted it "My Favourite Album". And, if you start the album at just the right moment with The Wizard Of Oz, they seem to link up.

If you're one of the few people on the planet that's never heard the album, go and pick it up today.

New Study Shows Link Between Abortion And Mental Illness

Women may be at risk of mental health breakdowns if they have abortions, a medical royal college has warned. The Royal College of Psychiatrists says women should not be allowed to have an abortion until they are counselled on the possible risk to their mental health...

The Royal College of Psychiatrists recommends updating abortion information leaflets to include details of the risks of depression. "Consent cannot be informed without the provision of adequate and appropriate information," it says.

Several studies, including research published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry in 2006, concluded that abortion in young women might be associated with risks of mental health problems
If there is a link, shouldn't a woman who's having this done be informed?

God Damn America

"Don't tell me words don't matter"

How true. Just ask Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's minster,
The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.

Then on September 12, 2001, Rev. Wright said the following,
We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost
Credit: Power Line

Sean Hannity has been the only one talking about this hate spewing Reverend for some time. It looks like Obama's media sheep are finally waking up and seeing that he's not God. This has nothing to do with Obama's religion. I don't care about that. This is about who he choses to associate with. Judge a man by the company he keeps.
First we had the incident in Berkley, then the possible incident in NY. I say possible because, while there's no proof, it can't be ruled out. And now it's the Senate
U.S. Capitol Police arrested 10 war protesters who began shouting in the Senate gallery Wednesday.

The protesters were quickly hustled into a hallway and out of the view of reporters. They had chanted, "The war is immoral! Stop funding the war!"—as police officers grabbed them and physically removed them from a visitors gallery overlooking the Senate floor.
And the icing on the cake is Pennsylvania.
On Wednesday, March 19, POG(Pittsburgh Organizing Group) will be holding a torch-lit march to a modern day castle of abominations—our local military recruiting station. If the station remains open, we intend to evict it and everything inside of it, occupy the location, and transform it into something useful for the community. We'll also be bringing a movable cage in which to confine military recruiters until they no longer pose a danger to our friends and neighbors
Credit: John K

I, honestly, would pay to see that. A bunch of softbrain "peaceful protesters" trying to cage members of the United States Military. There would be Berkenstocks and 60-year-old bald men with ponytails wearing tie dye flying all over the place. How awesome would that be?

Whoa, man. It's 2008? Wow

But getting back to being serious. These loons have went over the deep end. Protesting is one thing, but actually advocating committing, what I can only assume is, a felony is a something else. If these morons actually proceed with this asinine plan things could get ugly.

Sgt. Steve Morin Jr.
Sgt. Steve Morin Jr.
34 years old from Arlington, Texas
111th Engineer Battalion, 36th Infantry Division, Texas Army National Guard
September 28, 2005

From the time he finished high school, Sgt. Steve Morin Jr. made serving in the military his career.

"He always stood up for what he thought was right," Gwendolyn Michelle Morin, his wife, said. "He was a fighter. He would never give up." "He had called me to let me know what he was going to do that day," she said. He expected to be able to call her more often because of the missions he was being assigned. Sometimes they would go 11 or 12 days between calls.

Morin enlisted in the Navy after graduating high school in his hometown of Brownfield, Texas at 17. By 34, Morin had devoted 14 years to the Navy, served in the National Guard for two and planned to attend Officers Candidate School. Morin was still in the Navy when he met his wife. At the time, the two were working for a photo company; he was Santa Claus and she was an elf, she said. Both were attending Texas Tech University. "It was funny because we always kept running into each other. He would hang outside my classes and wait for me with a Diet Coke," recalled Gwendolyn. "He knew how to make me really happy."

Sgt. Morin died when an IED went off, overturning the vehicle he was riding in near Umm Qasr, Iraq.

"He's very strong willed, very determined. Humorous, a clown, but he was also very disciplined and very passionate about what he believed in," Gwendolyn Morin said. "He always wanted to serve his country."

The Vatican has released a list of seven new sins for the new globalized world. They include, taking or dealing in drugs, social injustice which caused poverty or "the excessive accumulation of wealth by a few", ruining the environment, carrying out morally debatable scientific experiments, or allowing genetic manipulations which alter DNA or compromise embryos. If I weren't already going to Hell from the original seven, not going Green has now screwed me.

Former British PM Margret Thatcher Hospitalized

The ex Prime Minister, 82, was being kept in overnight at St Thomas’ Hospital, central London, for “precautionary tests”.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said Thatcher was in a "stable" condition and speaking to the medical staff.

She was taken ill at 10.15pm and returned to her Pimlico home before being whisked to hospital. Lady Thatcher’s health has deteriorated in recent years and she has had a number of strokes.

Conservatives And Law & Order

Some of you may remember that I talked quickly about this in one my previous Random Thoughts posts, but I wanted to go back to it real quick. Why do so many Conservatives, myself included, love Law & Order so much? L&O:SUV for me. They've shown they don't much care for us or our views and yet we're drawn back week after week like a moth to a flame. And, may I add, that, as an Indian, I'm glad to see Adam Beach on SVU. President Bush: We Must Get Off Oil

President Bush said Wednesday that the United States has to "get off oil" to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and declared "it should be obvious" that high demand is creating painful gasoline prices.
Agreed. We have a potential supply of oil in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. We need to tap into that and see how much is there. That could temporally alleviate the pain at the pump. Then we need to set a deadline, according to how much oil we can get out of those two sites, on when we should have a viable, affordable renewable resource. While most of our oil comes from Canada and Mexico, we get far too much of it from countries that support terrorism. We're helping their economies while killing ours. I wonder how much of the money we've spent on oil from the Middle East may have went into the bombings of the WTC and the embassies in Africa? I wonder how much of it may have went into killing Israelis? How many attacks has our money helped fund?

Welcome To Jihad-Mart

Wal-Mart has pandered to Muslims in Michigan. Where's my special Wal-Mart?

And Then There Was One

Mike Huckabee bowed to reality Tuesday and out of the Republican presidential race.

"We kept the faith," he told his end-of-the-road rally Tuesday after John McCain clinched the nomination. "I'd rather lose an election than lose the principles that got me into politics in the first place."

Winter's Last Stand

Just a little over two weeks until Spring and Winter has decided to puff it's chest out one last time. A HUGE storm rolled through last night. Some areas, less than 30 miles away, got nothing. Here in my little town, we got hit with 6-8" of snow. Outside my front door was 6". Before I went to bed last night I decided to have a look outside to see what was going one. Almost white out conditions. I could barely see across the street. The good news, at least, is that there was no ice with this one. After that ice storm back in December, another one would have been devastating. Around mid-40's today and 50's tomorrow should melt most of it away.
