Class vs. No Class

And you could have lashed out, I know I would have, but you took it all in stride and even joked about it at times. Thank you for showing how a person in command of the United States should act.
Too bad President Obama can't do the same when it comes to criticism from Rush. But it's not his fault. He's just not use to having someone in the media not kissing his ass.

I Love Big Government

And you had better too because it's only getting bigger. Pelosi wants government to pay for birth control. Democrats got funding for STD prevention in the stimulus package. And now they want to make it a law that your camera phone make a sound when you take a picture. New York isn't the only place becoming a nanny state. Quite wasting my money and stay out of my business.

A-Jad & B-Ob, Pen Pals

The Obama administration has drafted a letter to the terrorist, I mean supreme leader, and people of Iran "aimed at unfreezing US-Iranian relations and opening the way for face-to-face talks". And here it is again,
It would be intended to allay the suspicions of Iran's leaders and pave the way for Obama to engage them directly, a break with past policy.
The only problem with this article is that we have been talking with Iran for quite some time. It's just that that wasn't what the media wanted to report. But now that Hitler is out of power and the Savior is in, we can finally start talking like we have been. Or something. Anyway, here's my letter to Iran.

Dear Ali & A-Jad,

Die already.

Love, America.

PS: You Suck

Now, I admit it's not all that diplomatic but it gets my point across.

Sgt James E. Craig
Sgt James E. Craig
27 years old from Hollywood, South Carolina
1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division
January 28, 2008
U.S. Army

James, 27, was killed on January 28, 2008, in Mosul, Iraq, along with four other soldiers when the unit encountered an IED, followed by an ambush from a nearby Mosque. It has been a year since James was killed. I miss him each day.

James was on his third deployment to Iraq. There are so many things about James that I admired. He was 'loud' and funny and articulate and sweet - even calling himself 'Sweet Soldier' - and brave and tough. He was a devout Christian and more comfortable with telling people he was than anyone I ever knew - he had a enviable, easy comfort with this faith. It would be so easy to write and write about James, but let me share some portions of his letters - his long and articulate letters.

"...I am very much looking forward to this war being over. However, I fully support everything that is going on over here ever since I saw first hand what the real situation was. Our media doesn't portray the truth of this operation or the necessity to the people here. They need freedom and desperately cry out for someone to help them. ... I know one thing, God wants me here."

"The war here is stating to come to an end. It will be a slow transition period where the responsibility of the battle space is handed over to the growing Iraqi Army. It all depends on the Iraqis if we are able to leave them with it safely."

"...it is a tale of my wonderful journey where I made memories I will never forget and stood up for something that I believe in...that sweet taste of freedom when the day is done and the knowledge that I have done something to ensure the positive future of my loved ones. And, you should know that it comforts me the most that what I do protects wonderful people like you."

"Che" Was Just Misunderstood

Benicio Del Toro walks out of an interview about his movie Che.

What is it with Hollywood's, and Liberals in general, love affair with people like Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and "Che" Guevara? I don't understand it. But, then again, my IQ is over 70. Do they not realize what people like this are responsible for? Or is it that they don't care? Castro and Guevara are terrorists. Plain and simple. And Chavez is a dictator in training. They screamed about Bush taking away our rights then headed down to Venezuela and embraced Chavez. I honestly believe that had Sean Penn or Danny Glover been around in the 30's and 40's they would have went to Germany and befriended Hitler.

Another Ice Storm

If you've been watching your local weather you've probably seen that the middle of the country is under the gun for another Winter storm. So far the ice hasn't been that bad. I've had a few power flashes but it hasn't gone out yet. Hopefully it won't. But if I don't post for a while, you'll know why.

On a side note, in a bit of irony AC/DC is performing a show in Tulsa tonight. The name of the tour? The Black Ice tour. Just thought that was funny.

Was It Really A Snub?

People are making a big stink about The Dark Knight being snubbed by the Oscars. Well, first, I don't watch the Oscars. A bunch of pampered, self-righteous idiots patting themselves on the back for making long winded pieces of crap. Second, was it really a snub? The Dark Knight sucked. The first one was bad, and this sequel was just as bad. I was fooled with the three horrible Spider-Man movies, and I was fooled by the two Batman movies. I won't be fooled by the next one.

In April 2008, Michael Monsoor (who had already been posthumously awarded the Silver Star for his actions in a May 9, 2006 incident, when he and another SEAL pulled a wounded team member to safety amidst gunfire) was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. His funeral, attended, in the words of President Bush, by "nearly every SEAL on the West Coast," was held on October 12, 2006 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. During Monsoor's funeral service, as the casket was taken from the hearse to the gravesite, fellow SEALs lined up in two columns to slap and embed the gold Tridents (a pin awarded for successful completion of SEAL Qualification Training) from their uniforms onto the top of Monsoor's coffin.

"The procession went on nearly half an hour, and when it was all over, the simple wooden coffin had become a gold-plated memorial to a hero who will never be forgotten." - President George W. Bush

President Barack Obama

So Barack Obama has been sworn into office to become the 44th President of The United States. I don't support or trust the man one iota. I believe his views and policies are dangerous and bad for the country. Especially in the world we live in today. But I do hope he succeeds. Because regardless of who's in the White House I wish only the best for us. But, with him, Biden, Pelosi and Reid in power we could be looking at pretty rough times ahead. I harbor no ill wishes for Obama. I'm not sitting and waiting for him to screw up because if he fails we as a country fail. Nor am I going to say "we need to rally behind him" because I'd be a hypocrite if I did. I will, however, be ready criticize the man and tear into him when he screws up, as is my right. I will also make funny Photoshopped images of him when the mood strikes me. But I will not go down the same intolerant hate road the Left did with Bush. Nazi, retard, Satan, murderer, terrorist. Not only was it disrespectful, it was disgusting. We don't have to support him, but we need to hope for the best out of him.

Look, I don't know what the future has in store for us under an Obama administration, Democrats controlling the government, possible Supreme Court control and a media that's enraptured by that prospect; but I don't hold out many high hopes. What's that old adage, "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely". We saw it with Republicans and we will see it again with the Democrats.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
You cannot build character and courage by destroying men's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.

- William J.H. Boetcker

Thank You President Bush

Thank you for your service to our country. In the face of the most dangerous and trying time in the history of this country you stood up and did what needed to be done to protect us. You stood up and said we're not going to sit by and wait to be hit again. Some agreed, some didn't. But they're not the ones who have to make the decisions. Thank you for keeping us safe.

Not only did you have to deal with monsters who wanted to destroy us, you had to face some of the most hateful, close minded rhetoric to ever be thrown at anyone. And you could have lashed out, I know I would have, but you took it all in stride and even joked about it at times. Thank you for showing how a person in command of the United States should act.

Was your presidency perfect? No. Nothing is. Were you perfect? No. No one is. But you stuck to your principals, even if I don't agree with all of them, and showed the mettle of this great country and it's leader. I have no idea how history will look on your time in office. The people who like you say it will be favorable. The people who hate you say you will be remembered as the worst president in history. But they don't know. No one knows. All I know is that when this country needed some one to stand up, you did. Thank you.

Oh, The Irony

If no action is taken to curb global warming temperatures are likely to rise by 5.5ºC and could rise as much as 7ºC above pre-industrial levels by 2100. Early and rapid reductions in CO2 emissions are required to avoid significant impacts of climate change.

The new supercomputer, which will become operational later this year, will emit 14,400 tonnes of CO2 a year,” said Dave Britton, the Met Office’s chief press officer. This is equivalent to the CO2 emitted by 2,400 homes – generating an average of six tonnes each a year.
I love the green movement. I do. Because it's the ones who scream the loudest who usually are doing the most damage.

Who Stands Up For The Man?

A couple of friends of mine are having a baby in February and it got me to thinking. When a Woman is pregnant all we hear about is what she's going through. Her pain, her suffering. How come nobody talks about what us guys go through? We suffer right along with you ladies, in our own way. If it's not sympathy pains, it's in other ways. Whether you all know it or not, when you get pregnant your moods change on a dime. One minute your horny and the next you're ready to kill us because we're breathing too heavy while we're ten feet away. We also have to go through your strange food cravings. Pickles on Saltines. An apple pie from that bakery 300 miles away because they're only ones who can do it right. And God help you if the crust isn't the right shade of brown. We have to sit in the background while everyone talks about how good you look. We don't get any of that attention. And don't get me started on morning sickness or people telling us "you have to watch the birth". No I do not. When it comes to pregnancy, Men are the forgotten fighters. It's time someone stands up and speaks for us. And while I don't speak from experience, as I'm not a father, I do watch TV so I know how it works.

I shouldn't have to put this, but I'm afraid I do. This post is meant as a joke. Don't nobody go getting all upset with me over it.
Marvel are putting Obama in an upcoming issue of Spider-Man. They say it's not because they're in the tank for him but because he, Obama, has stated that he's a Spider-Man fan. In the plot of the comic, a character named Chameleon tries to assassinate Obama before he can be sworn into office. Just three things.

1. Why are they doing this? The Obamassiah can't be killed.

2. I wonder if Chameleon will be wearing either a GOP or McCain/Palin button?

3. Could you imagine if Bush had said that he liked comic books? People would have a field day with it.

Big Hollywood

Big Hollywood

Go there. You'll love it. That is if you're not a Liberal. One of the coolest things I found out from this site is that actor Gary Graham is a Conservative. Gary Graham was in my favorite show of all time, Star Trek: Enterprise. Awesome. After reading his post, you just have to stand up and yell "HELL YEAH".

Lack Of Updates

Some of you may have noticed that there have been a lack of posts recently. A few here and there, but mostly just Wednesday Hero. That's because I really can't post anything. If you'll remember a few months ago I complained about having trouble with my connection. Well, four months later and the problem still persists. I've done everything I can think of and nothing. Anyway, one of the biggest problems that has surfaced is the loading of news sites. They just won't. For instance, there's a story on the Chicago Sun-Times site I wanted to link to, but after five minutes of waiting the site still won't load. And downloading updates for things such as Windows, Firefox and my anti-virus? Forget it. That's just not happening. Hand to God, I'm ready to take a sledge hammer to this damn machine and be done with it.

Outrageous

Garbage Dump Searched for Baby's Remains

A woman in New Jersey was rushed to the hospital when she went into labor. She ended up giving birth to a baby boy who later died. The hospital took the body to the morgue, but somehow he ended up being thrown out with the trash.

What? I mean, honestly, how the hell does something like this happen? It's a baby, not a pop can or piece of paper.

2009

I guess this is where I'm supposed to wish everyone a Happy 2009 and talk about how great it is to have horrible 2008 behind us. At least that's the impression I get from reading the newspaper. But, to be perfectly honest, I've had worse years. Judged with those past years, 2008 wasn't so bad. Now I'm supposed to close this post with something like "We now look ahead to a new era and a time of change for the country. Bright sunny days are ahead."
