Wednesday Hero
Col. Robert Hipwell
Col. Robert Hipwell
San Jose, California
Army National Guard
Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix

Col. Robert Hipwell receives the Purple Heart after being wounded in a riot in Afghanistan in September 2004. He also received the Bronze Star Medal with Valor device, the Romanian Golden Dracula Marksmanship Award, a Gold German Schutzenschnur for rifle marksmanship, and the Karzai Medal which was presented by the president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karza. Col. Hipwell was deployed to Afghanistan to help in the training of the Afghanistan National Army.

These brave men and women risk their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

Also, if you have a loved who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces, and would like for me to profile them as a Wednesday Hero, I would be proud to. Just email me with some info and a photo.
We Have Every Right To Dream Heroic Dreams.
