South Dakota Abortion Free

The governer of South Dakota has signed a bill that puts restrictions on abortions in the state. I can't help but be reminded of a song by Rush that goes,

Celebrate the moment
As it turns into one more
Another chance at victory
Another chance to score

But my fellow pro-lifers, don't get too cocky. Even though this issue will make it to the Supreme Court, the court will uphold it's 1973 ruling. Don't look for abortion to be outlawed in this country.

I'd be willing to bet you are wrong.
Scalia, Thomas and Kennedy have already voted against "partial birth abortion" and it is assumed (and rightly so, I believe) that Roberts and Alito will join them with a same opinion, with Alito being the swing vote.

The law bans abortion in almost all cases, punishing doctors who perform one with five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. It bans abortion even in cases where a woman is pregnant as a result of rape or incest, or if giving birth would damage the health of the mother.

A great day for women all across South Dakota, I'm sure.

But a great victory for innocent unborn children..in SD.

Yeah, because mothers who die during child birth is such a success for their children.

48 million killed by abortion.(USA)

Tell me za... how many mothers have died due to childbirth?

"A great day for women all across South Dakota, I'm sure."

Not only for the women of SD but like John K said..."a great victory for innocent unborn children"

The law states in the EXCEPTION of threatening the life of the mother.
Did you not read that? Its there.

How's about you research that question Loboinok? And why not back up your assertions while you're at it.

And no John, it says EVEN in the case that it threatens the mother, or the mother was raped.

Actually, Za, you might want to do some research.

From PBS. Hardly a Right-Wing station.
South Dakota, already the state with the strictest abortion regulations, has passed a controversial law that prevents doctors from performing an abortion except in cases where the mother's life is in danger

You didn't quote the whole passage there:
South Dakota's law makes it a crime for a doctor to perform an abortion unless the mother's life is endangered. There are no exceptions for cases in which a mother's health may be threatened or cases in which the pregnancy results from rape or incest.

Per year (US)

Tobacco 406,000
Alcohol 116,000
Pharm. drugs 106,000
Auto accidents 43,000
Illegal drugs 19,100
Common flu 4,000
Childbirth 400 or 1 per day for 1.5%

Funny how they just flat out contradict themselves. Just like a Liberal "news" organization.
