Music Czar Monday

How could I close Rockuary with anyone other than Acca Dacca and Bon Scott? I'm not that well versed in the Bible, but I do believe it would be a sin to do otherwise.

It's more commonly known as "The Rebel Alliance" but it's proper name is "The Alliance to Restore the Republic". Huh.

Cpl. Jason A. Karella
Cpl. Jason A. Karella
20 years old from Anchorage, Alaska
2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force
October 9, 2008
U.S. Marines

Cpl. Jason A. Karella died supporting combat operations in the Farah province of Afghanistan when the Humvee he was riding in rolled over. He had given up his, as his Father described "best seat in the armored Humvee" to the turret gunner who wasn't feeling well that day.

"My son was proud of what he stood for," said his father, Kevin. "He had a fiancee named Beth and he said to me, 'Dad, I don't have to worry about Beth getting blown up in a market over there because we're keeping them busy here.'"

Karella grew up in a strong military family, with his father a former chief warrant officer in the Army, and his brother Josh also having served in Iraq.

Marines recognized Karella for his incredible strength, which he used to carry large amounts of ammunition with him in the battlefield. They referred to him as "the walking ammo supply point" and "the walking arsenal." Well-respected among his peers, he was awaiting a promotion to Sergeant at the time of his death.

This page has a nice background piece on Cpl. Karell.

It was a little hard to pick this one. This whole album is full of bad ass songs so to choose just one wasn't easy. If you're a world class air guitarist, such as myself, then this is a song that really puts all your skills to the test and proves you could play a real guitar. You know, if you wanted to. One of those songs have to be turned up to 11 when played. "Hate (hate), I'm your hate, I'm your hate when you want love, Pay (pay), Pay the price, Pay for nothing's fair"

I've Gone Ban Happy

You know what I heard? I heard that that Devil's concoction, High Fructose Corn Syrup, is bad for us. It's a killer. Oops, I mean a destroyer. Dang it. Well, in any case it's bad and it should be banned. You know, maybe we're onto something. Smoking's bad for us too. It causes cancer. Ban it. Drinking can be bad. Hello cirrhosis of the liver. Ban it. Porn is evil. It can cause blindness. Ban it. Cursing is bad. It hurts peoples feelings. Ban it. Oh, oh, oh. The old stand by violent video games and movies are differently bad for us. When I play Saints Row or watch Crank I always feel the need to go out and shoot someone. Ban them. Trans fat. The most vile stuff on the planet. Even the term should be banned. If not ban these things then tax/fine the hell out of them. See, we need to learn that we don't need these bad things. And if we can't learn that on our own, maybe we need a little nudging.

Come On People Now, Smile At Your Brother

I didn't watch any of the news/opinion shows tonight, did anyone condemn Rep. Cohen for his comparison of Republicans opposing the health care bill to Nazi propaganda leading to the Holocaust? In this happy, happy, joy, joy, we're all brothers and sisters, "crosshairs" and "target" are a no-no era of politics you would have to think that someone did.

Break It Down

Sitting here looking at my pages stats and here's how it breaks down:

My number one visited post is the Wednesday Hero Blogroll post with an average of 56 views a day and a total of 16,290 since I posted it in 2006.

I get an average of around 100 views of my blog every day with a total of 34,471 since Blogger started keeping track. Not sure when that was.

My number one traffic source is The Pink Flamingo. Thanks, Cindy.

The number one search term that leads people to my page is "barbara boxer". Why? Because of this post I did back in 2005.

Only 38 people have read Blood Plague and 17 for Tony The Gerbil.

Surprisingly, IE is still the number one browser used at 61% while Firefox is second with only 23%. Huh.

Windows is by far the number one OS with 88%.

And, the US is the number one country for pageviews with, awesomely, South Korea in second.

Bleed (Red, White & Blue)

I was forwarded this song. I couldn't do it as part of MCM because the only way you can listen to it is to download a copy for $1.25. But it is for a good cause, the Challenged Athletes Foundations & Operation Rebound. So head over and check it out.

Break The Shackles

Nigger. I said it. Oh no, I must be racist. Ban me or fire me from something. I tell you, I am so sick and tired of the language police that have taken over this country. I honestly don't have a problem with the way Burlington used it. He didn't say it to be mean. He didn't say it to someone in a racist manner. People, stop being a damn slave to political correctness. And while we're on the subject, I'm tired of having to pay for what our ancestors, and even our grandparents, did. None of us had anything to do with slavery and the majority of us had nothing to do with segregation, yet we're made to feel guilty about it all the time. Well, I don't. I have zero guilt about slavery or segregation because I had nothing to do with it. And this is coming from someone who's people were severely wronged, as much if not more than Blacks, in the past, but I've let it go. I urge others to do the same.

Jordan Brown
Jordan Brown

An 11-year-old from Lebanon County in Pennsylvania, Jordan Brown has long been fascinated by World War II and one old soldier in particular -- Dick Winters, the Easy Company commander made famous by the HBO mini-series "Band of Brothers."

Mr. Winters, a Lancaster native who lives in Hershey, is 92 and has Parkinson's disease.

But a statue of him is going up in France, and Jordan has taken it upon himself to raise money for it by selling $1 rubber wristbands in the tradition of Lance Armstrong's yellow "Live Strong" bracelets.

Music Czar Monday

Thought about stopping MCM but then I realized that I didn't care if anyone but me was listening to these songs. I like them, so I'm going to post them.

Looking at all the songs I've posted on MCM I've noticed one thing. There have been a lot of Techo/Dance tracks. I love that style of music but I've kind of been ignoring Rock. There've been a few but not nearly enough. Well, January has officially been changed to Rockuary. Nothing but badass, balls to the wall Hard Rock & Heavy Metal. The only dancing will be your fist in the air and your head banging \\m//

They tore this song up at the VH1 Rock Honors. Never really liked Godsmack before I saw this but they've grown on me since.
