It's Not Our Job

I don't know if that's FNC's words or Mortons, but the Arizona law doesn't make it a crime to be in the state illegally. Federal law makes it a crime. The Arizona law just enforces it. If the federal government refuses to do it's job then the states have to step up and do it.

Obama Makes A Smart Move For Once

No wonder it's so cold outside today. Hell has frozen over. I actually agree with a move Obama is considering.

President Obama weighed in Wednesday on the escalating drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that he was looking at possibly deploying National Guard troops to contain the violence but ruled out any immediate military move.

If you've been following the few news stories the media has done on Mexico, or the great reporting Glenn Beck has done, then you know it's a war zone down there and the situation has gone much further than Pablo crossing over for a better job. The drug cartels essentially run that country and it's spilling over here. There are people along the Mexican side of the border who are armed just as well as our military. The border guards and Minute Men can't fight that.

16 Illegals Sue Arizona Rancher

An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.

I love this country, but the fact that we allow a lawsuit like this shows just how far we've fallen.

It also said Mr. Barnett acknowledged that he had turned over 12,000 illegal immigrants to the Border Patrol since 1998...

He said he carried a pistol during his searches for the immigrants and had a rifle in his truck "for protection" against immigrant and drug smugglers, who often are armed...

"This is my land. I´m the victim here," Mr. Barnett said. "When someone´s home and loved ones are in jeopardy and the government seemingly can´t do anything about it, I feel justified in taking matters into my own hands. And I always watch my back."

This man is a hero and should be awarded, not sued.

ICE Agents Do Their Job

Federal officials say nearly 600 suspected illegal immigrants were detained in a raid on a manufacturing plant in southern Mississippi, making it the largest such sweep in the country.

A spokeswoman says more than 100 of those caught up in Monday's raid on Howard Industries were released based on humanitarian concerns, mostly because they have children.

Boo-hoo. The drug dealer down the street has kids. Should he not be arrested? The mother of two in my apartment was driving while intoxicated last night. Should she not be arrested?

Now, illegals are scared. Oh no.

Weather Vane Politics

John Kerry was the best example of weather vane politics and now it's Obama's turn. McCain did it and Obama is following his lead. And don't think for a second they're doing it because they believe it's the right thing to do. If that were the case they'd been on board all along. They're doing it because the polls tell them it's the smart move. I only have two questions. 1) When will Obama finally admit that the surge has worked and 2) When will Bush, and the rest of Congress, become a weather vane when it comes to the border? This form of neo-slavery that's happening now isn't working.

Drug cartels are using classified job ads to lure young Mexicans near the U.S. border into unknowingly working as drug couriers, law enforcement officials said Thursday.

Mexico City's El Universal newspaper first reported the trend Thursday, saying ads in some Ciudad Juarez newspapers require applicants to have the U.S. visa needed to drive a vehicle across the border but do not mention job experience.

"A lot of times they advertise as if they were a company, and they send them to El Paso but they don't tell them what they are carrying," an official at the federal Attorney General's office in Ciudad Juarez told The Associated Press. He was not authorized to be quoted by name.

But wanting tighter security at the borders makes us racists.

Almost two years ago I posted about Geno's Steaks in Philly implimenting an "Order In English" policy. They were challenged and on it and won.

In a 2-1 vote, a Commission on Human Relations panel found that two signs at Geno's Steaks telling customers, "This is America: WHEN ORDERING 'PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH,'" do not violate the city's Fair Practices Ordinance.

Stealing The Election. Literally

Border Patrol agents detained four individuals in Mecca, Calif. suspected of being involved in the theft of a voter ballot box.

At approximately 10 p.m. during a vehicle traffic stop Indio Border Patrol agents encountered a male driver of a white Ford Thunderbird with three occupants. El Centro sector dispatch advised the agent that the vehicle matched the description of one suspected of being involved in a theft near Coachella as reported by the Riverside County sheriff’s office.

From what I can gather, Coachella is a heavily Republican area. Illegals? Democrats?

Two Dozen Illegal Immigrants Arrested Using Fake Badges to Work at O'Hare International Airport

One affidavit from a temporary worker who cooperated with authorities said Benitez told him to look through a box containing about 20 airport security badges and to pick one with a picture that resembled his own face.

The affidavits allege that Ideal Staffing told workers they needed to have identification, but that the documents did not have to be legitimate, and also accused the company of supplying some workers with deactivated badges issued in other names.

An Argument For Tougher Border Security

A new study says that the AIDS virus may have entered the U.S. via a Haitian immigrant back in 1969. Now, this story brings up a very good argument for tougher border security. Since we have no earthly idea who's coming into this country via the borders, we have no idea what's being brought with them. The super aggressive AIDS virus known as "super AIDS", TB, avian flu or something we don't even know about yet. You know, you don't see someone coming for work as a problem. What ever. But what if the next pandemic the media has been scaring us with the past few years comes from someone sneaking across one of the borders. Really. Is it that far fetched?

America Is Dying

In the United States, it is illegal to fly any flag above the American flag. But that's just what a bar owner in Reno, NV did when he flew the Mexican national flag above the U.S. national flag.Watching Neil Cavuto earlier today and it seems that the bar owner will file charges against the Veteran who cut the flag down.

I'm Jim Broussard, and I took this flag down in honor of my country with a knife from the United States Army. I'm a veteran, I'm not going to see this done to my country. If they want to fight us, then they need to be men, and they need to come and fight us. But I want somebody to fight me for this flag. They're not going to get it back

Well, it seems that "technically" it's not illegal to fly another nations flag above the U.S. flag.

While there is indeed a federal law regulating the display of the U.S. flag, that law is merely advisory and simply codifies standard government practice in displaying the American flag.

Several federal courts have examined this law and held that the flag rules are not mandatory and cannot be enforced

But it's still disrespectful and infuriating and applaud this man for what he did. Something tells me we're going to see more of this happening.

What Did He Say?

Oh, Rudy. Why? Huckabee is looking more and more like my guy. He seems to be contradicting himself all over the place. He says that illegal immigration isn't a crime nor should it be but says that wants to build the fence to keep them out. I'm confused. If it's not a crime and shouldn't be a crime then why not let them come in as they see fit? I don't get it. Also, how can you call it "illegal" if it's not a crime?

You see, I have more problems with this then I do his stance on abortion. Because despite what some in this country like think, the borders are a front on the war on terror. We have no idea who's crossing. And they're only argument concerning this is "do you have any proof a terrorist has cross the border?". Alan Colmes. That, my friends, is a weak argument. There are near 20,000,000 illegals in this country. We have no idea who they are or where they're from. Can they give me a 100% guarantee that of those 20,000,000 there isn't one? No? Didn't think so.

Recently Deported Illegal Still At It

Recently deported illegal immigrant, Elvira Arellano, is now saying that the U.S. broke the law first by "allowing illegal immigrants to pay taxes". Huh? It's video so I can't watch it. Could someone do that and let me know what the hell this woman's talking about?

A Mexican Senate committee passed a measure Wednesday urging President Felipe Calderon to send a diplomatic note to the United States protesting the deportation of an illegal migrant who took refuge in a Chicago church for a year.

Arellano added,

For me it is very important that our government take a strong stand to defend all of us who decide to migrate to another country

So, she wants the Mexican government to tell the U.S. government what to do? Bullshit to that. But, as we've seen with this whole "Dog" Chapman debacle, Bush will most likely bend over and take it and allow her back in.

Criminals With Kids Need Special Treatment

Arellano has repeatedly called for a stop to immigration raids that break up families with some members who are in the U.S. legally and others illegally

Their argument is that by deporting her they are breaking her family apart by separating her from her child? Uh, what? That's what tends to happen when you break the law. Let me give you an example A mother is arrested selling drugs, is convicted and goes to jail. Should she not go to jail simply because she has a child? How are illegals who have kids any different than anyone else?
