Obama's Hate Church Strikes Again

Yet another "man of God" from Sen. Obama's Trinity United Church has went on a hate rant. Have you seen the video? The people in that church were celebrating and going crazy while this was going on. I didn't really believe that Obama held the views of Rev. Wright when that story broke, but you have to wonder why someone would stay at a place like this for 20 years if they didn't agree in some way. Then you take some of his and his wife's comments and you have wonder even more what his beliefs really are. God help him if a tape ever surfaces that shows him saying things like this. Some want to believe that stories like these aren't important, but they're very important. The people Obama has surrounded himself with go a long way in revealing his true character.

I heard Bob Beckel today on FNC saying that Obama needs to now leave the TUC. Personally, I think it's too little too late. He's spent half his life with this church. Everyone, well everyone not totally hypnotized by him, would recognize that for what it would be. Weather vane politics. Not the "Change" we need in Washington.

A Great Game Of Political Chess III

Chess

Sen. McCain: "I double dog dare Sen. Obama to go to Iraq with me."
Sen. Obama: "Sen. McCain is playing political games that I will not stoop to. But I may go to Iraq after I win the nomination."
Sen. McCain: "Sen. Obama is only doing this for political reasons."
Sen. Obama: ""
Sen. Clinton: "Don't forget about me."

Hillary has nothing to do with this, but I though I would put her into this sad spectacle. I believe that Sen. Obama should go to Iraq and talk to the troops on the ground and see what's really going on there, but the way these two are, once again, playing chess with out military is reprehensible. The men and women of the United States armed forces should never be used a political pawns. Shame on McCain for even starting this and shame on Obama for first saying no then changing his mind when he though it could help him in November.

And It's Killing Liberals

Fox News Channel has, once again, stomped it's competition. For the past 77 months, or almost 7 years, FNC has been the #1 rated cable news network. And for the month of May they've done it again. The O'Reilly Factor has been #1 for the past 7 1/2 years and is still gaining new viewers. And there's a reason. Unlike CNN, they're not stale and boring. Have you watched Wolf Blitzer? Zzzzzzz.... The only good thing about CNN is Glenn Beck. Unlike MSNBC, they haven't went with extreme hate shows. Keith Olbermann is a joke. And despite what the far Left like to believe, they are the most fair news network out there.

Oooo, Busted

Rep. Paul Kanjorski(D-Penn)
“I’ll tell you my impression. We really in this last election, when I say we…the Democrats, I think pushed it as far as we can to the end of the fleet, didn’t say it, but we implied it. That if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of Government would know that wasn’t true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts…and people ate it up.”

What's Really Going On With The Price Of Gas

On tonight's episode, Glenn Beck had T. Boone Pickens on. Pickens is the CEO of BP Capital. He's a Texas oilman who's turned his attention to wind power. Why is gas so high? KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid. Pickens can't make it any more simple. Who's to blame for it? Here's a hint. Despite what Congress wants us to think, it's not oil companies. Maybe they should talk to this guy. It's a LONG interview, but worth reading. There's no video of it up on the website at the time of this posting but you can check CNN.com/GlennBeck to see if it's up when you're reading this.
You can no longer let your children go outside and play alone anymore. If they go outside, they have to be within your viewing range today because they may never come home again. I think my generation was the last real "free" generation of kids. I remember riding my bike around my neighborhood all day. A few blocks from my house we had an entrance to a wooded area we called "The Trails" that kids, mostly the older ones, would go into and hang out all day. We had a park a block behind my house that we would go play and fish at. Selling candy bars for band, yes I was in the band, door to door without your parents having to walk with you. Trick Or Treating the same way. Parents, would you let your child go Trick Or Treating alone today? You can't really do these things anymore because a child predator may be living in your neighborhood. And the generation before mine, kids would go outside in the morning and say out all day. I never did that, at least if I did I can't remember. And yes, I know children went missing before, but it's gotten worse over the last few years. Kids can no longer be kids.

Wednesday Heroes

Sgt. John F. ThomasSgt. Ronnie L. Shelley
Sgt. John F. Thomas(Right) & Sgt. Ronnie L. Shelley, Sr.(Left)
33 & 34 years old from Valdosta, Georgia
2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment, 48th Infantry Brigade, Georgia Army National Guard
July 24, 2005 & July 30, 2005
Army National Guard

Sgt. Ronnie "Rod" Shelley and Sgt. John F. Thomas became best friends in the Georgia Army National Guard.

They both were ex-Marines, both about the same age, and both enjoyed searching for arrowheads and fishing together. As their friendship grew, Thomas often came over to Shelley’s house for steaks and ribs barbecued by his friend. And when their infantry unit was sent to Iraq in May of 2005, they went to war together.

When their unit was mobilized for combat duty in Iraq, Shelley promised to watch out for Thomas. "Ronnie said, 'Don't you worry, I'll bring him back safely,"' said Thomas' grandfather. But neither Sgt. Thomas or Sgt. Shelley made it back safely. Sgt. Thomas was killed July 24, 2005 by a roadside bomb near Baghdad. And Sgt. Shelley was killed six days later on July 30 by another roadside bomb, also near Baghdad.

Shelley was a family man, married with three children, who was obsessed with having a neat yard, his wife said. "The grass had to be two inches," she said. "If the neighbor mowed the grass, Rod had to mow. He also wanted the biggest, baddest lawn mower."

She said she fell in love with his "gorgeous blue ... eyes," and "he had a laid back attitude. I could not make him mad."

Thomas was married but had no children. His grandparents said he dreamed of becoming a forest ranger. "John wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail. Now the only trail he can walk is the trail in heaven," the grandfather said.

Mrs. Thomas, wiping back tears, said the soldier felt responsible for the others in his unit. "He cared for people," she said. "That's why he had so many friends. People cared for him."

Killed alongside Sgt. Shelley were Staff Sgt. David R. Jones Sr., Sgt. 1st Class Victor A. Anderson and Sgt. Jonathon C. Haggin and killed alongside Sgt. Thomas were Army Spc. Jacques E. Brunson, Army Staff Sgt. Carl R. Fuller and Army Sgt. James O. Kinlow.

Stop Dicking Around

When you read this, you have to wonder if Congress really gives a damn about our men and women fighting this war. Stop adding this crap onto the spending bill and just give them what they need to win with no strings attached. It's not that hard. Wait. I forgot who I was talking about. Sorry. A politician's never met a dollar they didn't like to spend.

Obama Doesn't Get It

I was going to do a post about this speech that Obama gave in which he countries like Iran aren't as big a threat as Russia was back in the Cold War. In doing some research, yes, I occasionally do some research for these posts, I came across this post. He does it so much better than I could have, so I'm just going to link to it. I will, however, add this. To say that Iran doesn't pose a serious threat the way the Soviet Union did is laughable and dangerous. I don't recall too many Russians strapping bombs to themselves and killing innocent children in the name of God like those who support radical Islam do. I don't think too many Communists believed that blowing themselves up and killing innocent people would get them to heaven to claim their eternal reward like those who support radical Islam do.
Iran, Cuba, Venezuela - these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us.
Germany is tiny compared to the Soviet Union. Did they not pose a serious threat? Japan was tiny compared to the Soviet Union. Did they not post a serious threat? Afghanistan is tiny compared to the Soviet Union. Did they not post a serious threat? I'm not sure what the size of the country has to do with their threat level. I'm also not sure what Cuba and Venezuela have to do with this. Is there some plan to bomb or attack them that I haven't heard about?

Stuff White People Like

You have to go read this site. It's a satire of all the stereotypical things White people like and why they like them. Out of the 98 items I fell into 18 of them. I figured it would be more, but I guess being bi-racial prevented that. But I have to question #80 The Idea Of Soccer. I actually do love soccer. But some of these things are funny. National Healthcare, Barack Obama, Apple Products & Toyota Prius. But Knowing What's Best For Poor People is probably the best one.

Arrogant Appeaser?

Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history
No where does Bush say Obama's name. In fact, he says "some". Plural. More than one. It's kind of arrogant, Sen. Obama, to think President Bush was talking about you. Despite what you like to think, the world doesn't revolve around you. And what does it say about Obama that when people hear the word "appeasement" they automatically think of Obama? The presidential hopeful responded with the following
"George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists
Which is an outright lie. From a July 2007 CNN/YouTube debate
Question: In the spirit of that type of bold leadership, would you be willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?

Obama: I would
Yes. Talk to them. But not on their terms.

The World Is Looking More Like Star Trek Every Day

This post gets a little geeky, so bear with me. In the show Star Trek: Voyager they had what they called "Nanoprobes". And now scientists at UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and MIT have come up with the "nanoworm". But this isn't the first thing in our lives that's been influenced by Star Trek. The cell phone you can't live without? Based the the communicator. Remember the ear piece that Lt. Uhura wore? Bluetooth headset. Star Trek had music stored digitally years before the advent of the MP3. When you walk into the grocery store and the door magically opens on it's own. First seen in Star Trek. And scientists today are actually working on holodeck and transporter technology.

And while on the subject of the real world meets Trek, the Trek universe had what Gene Roddenberry called "The Eugenics Wars".
The Eugenics Wars (or the Great Wars) were a series of conflicts fought on Earth in the mid-1990s. The result of a scientific attempt to improve the Human race through selective breeding and genetic engineering
Now, why bring this up? Because of stories like this. Now, obviously it's far fetched. We're decades away from being able to do what Hitler wanted to do and create the perfect human, but it is a slippery slope and if we're not careful that imaginary Eugenics War may not be just science fiction one day. Read the last sentence on the page. What happens when it becomes safe?
Superior ability creates superior ambition
Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Kim Kardashian almost as dumb as Paris Hilton, who is the stupidest person on the planet. Have you watched this show and watch poor Bruce Jenner? He looks like he's ready to put a gun in his mouth. These are the people some in our society strive to be like. God help us all.

Should Hillary Drop Out?

OK, before we get started I have to put this right up front. I do not support Hillary. I can't stand her or any of the Clinton's for that matter. But I have to take her side on this issue. Now, excuse me while I go and take a shower wash the dirty feelings off. I don't think she should drop out. She has every right to run, even if she has a better chance of telling the truth than she does of getting the nomination. Now, if you'll recall just eight, and even four, years ago Democrats were screaming from the mountain tops that "every vote counts". There was even a website created for the phrase. So, what happened? Now many Democrats, the Obama Sheep mostly, want her to drop out and not let people have their say in the remaining primary states. Don't they still believe that "every vote counts"?

I've learned two things from the election so far. 1.) Democrats believe that "every vote counts" when it's for something they agree with and 2.) Democrats will turn on you in a heartbeat when the new flavor of the month comes around. The Clinton's use to be the Lords & Saviors of the Dems. They could do no wrong. They've now turned on them with the rise of Obama and his "New America" hope/change plan. It almost makes you feel bad for them when you see how they've fallen from grace. But then you remember who they are and you don't feel so bad for them.

Wednesday Hero

This Weeks Hero Was Suggested By Cindy

Petty Officer 2nd Class Chris Davila
Petty Officer 2nd Class Chris Davila
From Sierra Vista, Arizona
U.S. Naval Reserve

On the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attack on the United States, Petty Officer 2nd Class Chris Davila raised an American flag over Camp Korean Village, Iraq, he brought with him from Arizona.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008, Sierra Vista firefighter and emergency medical technician Chris Davila presented that flag to Fire Chief Randy Redmond as fellow firefighters looked on. Monday, May 5, 2008, was Davila’s first day back on the job with the department after being gone for nearly nine months, with seven of those months deployed as a Navy Reserve corpsman serving with a Marine unit near the Jordanian and Syrian border area in Iraq.

And, as luck would have it, on his first shift saw him responding to a blaze in Sierra Vista. "Right back to work," he said with a laugh.

You can read the rest of PO 2nd Class Davila's story here.

Cool Picture

Lightning bolts appear above and around the Chaiten volcano as seen from Chana, some 30 kms (19 miles) north of the volcano, as it began its first eruption in thousands of years, in southern Chile May 2, 2008. Cases of electrical storms breaking out directly above erupting volcanoes are well documented, although scientists differ on what causes them. Picture taken May 2, 2008
Too bad it's not a bigger image. That'd make an awesome wallpaper.

News Wrap-Up

The junta in Burma are still blocking aid from reaching the victims of the cyclone that hit the country last week.

The town that was Picher, Oklahoma was nearly wiped off the map on Saturday. But there's is a bizarre irony to the story. Pollution saved lives in Picher.
The lead and zinc mines that made Picher a booming town of about 20,000 in the mid-20th century closed decades ago; leftover waste has turned the area into an environmental disaster and a Superfund site.

Many families have moved away to escape the lead pollution, taking advantage of state and federal buyouts in recent years.
What was once a town of around 20,000 became a town of between 300-800 people before the storm on Saturday.

A 78-year-old blind man bowled a perfect game. 12 strikes in a row. I can't even bowl one.

7.8 magnitude earthquake hits China killing over 7,000 people.

Television viewership down since writers strike. I can believe that. TV shows have gotten dumber the past few years, with the rise of these "reality" shows. People are starting to get sick of them. Plus the original shows have also gotten dumber. There are 9 shows of tv that I watch, and only 4 of those are original shows, 5 are real reality shows. Like Jon & Kate Plus 8 and Deadliest Catch. Television sucks anymore.

House backs a 3.9% pay increase for troops. What they should do is take a pay cut themselves and give that to the troops. No way a Senator or Representative should be making FAR more than someone risking their life in a war zone.

States 53 & 54 Are Cool, But Our 58th State Rocks

It is wonderful to be back in Oregon. Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it
57 states with one to go, not including Alaska and Hawaii. So that's what, 60 states? Where are those extra states? Is the island from Lost one of them? Is that why we've never heard of it?

Had this been McCain, the Obama Sheep in the media would be all over his "senior moment". Obama is an elitist snob who attended a racist church for almost half his life and he doesn't know how many states we have. Ladies and Gentlemen, own next president. Be afraid, be very afraid.

A Moment Of Truth In Iraq, Pt. II

Taking an American off the street and building him into a competent marine or soldier takes a long time. It's no different with Iraqis

I finished Michael Yon's book last night, and I have to say it may be one of, if not the, best books I've ever read. Again, I stress, everyone needs to go and buy this book. There are so many great stories of thing the troops are doing that you don't get from many media outlets. This book has changed my view of the war. Like most people, I thought the troops were just fighting terrorists and "building schools and hospitals". They are doing so much more. While they're out there trying to root out al-Qeada, they're also having to be diplomats building relationships with local tribe leaders to secure Iraq's future. I strongly recommend that EVERYONE get this book, but I think the people who will benefit the most from it are the people who want to start a withdrawal of troops, people who have claimed that Iraq is lost and those who want to stop funding the war. Read the last two chapters to find out why these are bad ideas.

What did I get out of reading this book? Well, I got a sense that despite what we see and hear in the news, the Iraqi people, for the most part, do want us there. Most feel safer around an American Soldier or Marine than they do they're own military or police. I got that yes, we did some pretty stupid and horrible things in the early parts of the war, but we're making up for it today. I got that with every one story you see on the nightly news about a bomb killing American troops and civilians, there are hundreds of stories of good things going on in Iraq that don't get reported. I got that the Iraqi people are standing up to al-Qaeda and have driven them out of just about every part of the country. Mosul is looking like it may be their last stand. I got that we need more troops and more money sent to Iraq. There's not enough of either. I got that we are winning this war and damn everyone who says otherwise. Before reading this book I was in the "let's give the Iraqi people an ultimatum. Stand up and fight, or we leave". No longer. They are standing up and helping the troops and to pull any out now, when winning this war is actually with in grasp, would be a horrible mistake.

Lack of restraint nearly cost us the war during the first couple of years. Leadership, character, and restraint are why we are winning the war in Iraq -- now
Penn. Representative Paul Kanjorski is a dick. While I'm sorry if that word offends you, I'm not sorry I used it. Because he is. This moron wants the government to set up a "Reasonable Profits Board" to regulate just how much profit "Big Oil" can make. The government telling companies how much money they can make? This is the very basis of Socialism. What's stopping them from going a step further. Why not introduce a bill that states, for the continued safety of the planet and it's inhabitants, you are only allowed to have two children. I mean, less people equals less pollution.

If you're a fan of Pink Floyd's The Wall, you need to pick up their live two disk Is There Anybody Out There: The Wall: Live 1980-1981. It's better than the studio version. Plus, you get two extra songs that were left off the studio version. The Last Few Bricks & What Shall We Do Now. Also, Richard Wright sounds amazing on keyboards on Another Brick In The Wall, Pt. 2. A real funk/R&B sound. The only complaint I have is that the transition from Waiting For The Worms into Stop is better in the studio version. It's more powerful.

Oh, Stephen. Why?

I'm a Stephen King fan. Have been for years. But over the past few years he's gotten more hateful in his speech. He's a dyed-in-the-wool ultra hardcore Liberal, so it's not that big of a surprise. But his latest is over the top.
I don't want to sound like an ad, a public service ad on TV, but the fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on. If you don't, then you've got, the Army, Iraq, I don't know, something like that. It's, it's not as bright. So, that's my little commercial for that.
He's making it harder and harder to be a fan.

From King's website,
That a right-wing-blog would impugn my patriotism because I said children should learn to read, and could get better jobs by doing so, is beneath contempt.
He can spin it anyway he wants, but there's no amount of spin that won't make what he said mean "only illiterate people join the military".

A Moment Of Truth In Iraq

I've been reading my signed copy of Micheal Yon's new book, A Moment Of Truth In Iraq, thank you Greta. I'm just about half way through and it is an amazing book so far. If you haven't picked up a copy yet do so. No. Right now. Stop reading this and go order a copy. I'll wait.

OK, good. If you already had respect and love for the men and women serving in the U.S. military reading this book will enforce that. These people are beyond extraordinary. There's one chapter that I liked in particular called De Oppresso Liber(to liberate the oppressed). Maybe Sens. Obama and Clinton should read this book. Maybe they would realize that their plans to pull out isn't so good after all. We pull out, the terrorists move back in and the Iraqi people know and fear it. There's also a great story about Muslims helping to rebuild a Christian church in hopes of getting their Christian neighbors to move back in. And here's something I didn't know. When al-Qaeda goes into a village and destroys it, not only do they rape the women but they also rape the young boys. I didn't know that. There are actually gay members of al-Qeada who help coalition forces track down terrorists. Who knew?

However, if you're expecting a book that cheerleads the war you're going to disappointed. Yon's not afraid to let people know where we've screwed up and who did it. The parts on Gen. Petraus really show where we screwed up in Iraq and what we should have done instead. And let me say this. Gen. David Petraus is the right man to be in charge in Iraq. You learn that real quick from this book.

Reason 4 Why America Is Dying

I won't link to it, but there is a website out there that is a "non-profit organization", as if it's some sort of charity, that allows blind people to hear a description of what's happening in a porno. Not the sounds of the movie but someone actually describing what's happening on screen.

Sheer stupidity and outright ignorance. This is what people are concerning themselves with? No wonder Akbar wants to kill us.
