Forced DNA Sampling

President Obama thinks it's "the right thing to do" to take a mandatory DNA sample upon a person's arrest. Not charged or convicted, just arrested. TimesOnline is reporting that at least a dozen freed detainees from GITMO have made their way to al-Qaeda in Yemen.

The US Government issued figures in May showing that 74 of the 530 detainees in Guantánamo were suspected or known to have returned to terrorist activity since their release. They included the commander of the Taleban in Helmand province, Mullah Zakir, whom the British Chief of the Defence Staff, Sir Jock Stirrup, called “a key and seemingly effective tactical leader”. Among others who returned to terrorism was Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi, a Kuwaiti who killed six Iraqis in Mosul in 2008.

The number believed to have “returned to the fight” in the May 2009 estimate was double that of a US estimate from June 2008. US officials acknowledged that more detainees were known to have reoffended since, but the number has been classified.

GITMO is where they need to be. Plain and simple.

The Progress Of A Man's Political Views

The years is 1996. Bill Clinton is running for reelection. I had just turned 17 and am unable to vote. Not that it really matters as I'm not all that interested in politics. Yet. I have views but they had yet to be settled. I knew I didn't like Clinton, and when he won I felt personally cheated. That was the moment when I finally felt I had a vested interest in what going on in Washington. But let's go back further for just a moment. When I was younger, I was more Liberal in my thinking. I wasn't against abortion. I'd falling into the "my body, my choice" BS. I wasn't big on the military. And, like many adolescents in the 90's, I was apathetic towards my country. So then comes 1996 and Clinton winning reelection. I was angry. While I still had no political affiliation, I had been rooting for Dole. So then comes 1997. I turn 18 and an finally eligible to vote. I register as an Independent. I was a Conservative, but I had no party to tie myself to. That next year I finally get my chance to vote. It was mid-term election and we would be voting for the Governor of Oklahoma. I debated on whether or not I should wear a tie to my first election. I decided against it. So, I go vote, secure in the knowledge that the man I was voting for would win. He did not. Disappointing, but not crushing. Now, fast forward to 2000. My first BIG election. Now, I wish I could tell you when it was that I finally decided to become a Republican but I can't. It just happened. So I re-register as such and gear myself up for the big one. I go and cast my ballot for George W. Bush. Then all hell breaks loose. It drags on and on and on until he's finally declared winner. Then come four years of Nazi and retard and evil and on and on. Only solidifying my view that I had picked the right party because I didn't want to be a part of a party that would do such things. 2001. The worse day in American history. Things finally clicked. Over the next few years I was seeing what this country stood for and what our military was capable of. My views of the military and this country that I had had during my adolescents were gone. I finally had a true sense of pride. 2003. I start my blog and my views become even more harden as I'm able to finally express them properly. Then comes 2004. I'm still a proud Republican. George W. Bush stomps John Kerry and is reelected. I'm elated, because I felt that Kerry would have been the worse possible person to ever be president. The past seven months have proven me wrong. Then comes four more years of Nazi and retard and evil and terrorist. I'm getting burned out on politics by then. In 2006 I debated whether or not to vote in the mid-terms. I ultimately did. But the ride was over. Republicans had screwed things up too much for too long and they go slapped down. Not a surprise, but I wasn't too happy. Then comes 2008 and the moment for many Republicans when things changed. And I'm no exception. George W. Bush and the AIG bailouts. Things had been building up for a long time, and this was that final straw on that camel's back. That one moment in time is when many Republicans finally woke up and saw our true government. Many left the party. I am one of those. I am still a proud Conservative, but I am no longer affiliated with the Republican party. I'm still registered as one, but only because I'm too lazy the change it back to Independent. So Barack Obama is elected and in a very short time attempts to expand the government to unprecedented levels. Angering many Americans. Myself included.

So, where do I go from here? I consider myself a Traditionalist Conservative. I have no party, but would call myself Independent with Libertarian leanings. And I am more angry and frustrated than I've ever been in my life. But I see a light. The people are finally standing up and demanding that their voices be heard. I think that if they can overcome a media and government that's trying to tear them down, this country will be fine.

Letter To Government

Read this. This is why the Tea Party protests were started. Because average Americans are pissed off at the games our government is playing. Speed readers, cramming bills down our throats without even knowing what's in them, firing Inspector Generals because they're going after your friends, late night votes for ACORN funding in which all members can't get there to vote on, ACORN taking over the 2010 census, universal health care that we can't afford, government taking over businesses, more power for the federal reserve, shutting Republicans out of meetings, and on and on and on. When Obama won in November, I did this post. It was called "a bit much". Looking back today, no, I don't think it was a bit much. We were promised change. We tried to warn people that he didn't know what the hell he was doing, but they didn't listen. And look what it's gotten us. In five shorts months Barack Obama has done more damage than Bush did in eight years. If I weren't sick right now with a sore throat, I'd be screaming it's so infuriating. I hope to God that people wake up next year and gets rid of these people. They have royally fucked us.

Opposing Sonia Sotomayor

Ever since President Obama nominated Sonia Sotomayor to replace Justice David Souter on the Supreme Court I've heard and read a few pieces talking about how it's a "delicate matter for the GOP". That we need to tread lightly so as not to further alienate Hispanic voters. Bullshit. Oppose this woman at every turn. A judge does not make policy and can not make ruling with their emotions. They're job is to uphold the Constitution.

So why the hell should we forgo our beliefs just to please anyone? Any Congressman who goes weak kneed and follows the crowd because they're scared of how it will look to opposed a "Latina with a compelling life story" should pack their shit up and leave office because I don't want them there. So far only one Congressman, and I can't remember what state he's from or his name, has had the balls to stand up and state that he will not support her. I applaud this man. I only wish I could remember his name. I'm getting sick and tired of this fucking bullshit racist game that keeps getting played. We didn't support Obama because he's black, the tea parties were Klan rallies and now if Republican Congressmen don't bow down and support Sonia Sotomayor's nomination it could be seen as racist. Never mind that Democrats opposed Clarence Thomas, Alberto Gonzalez & Miguel Estrada. Bill O'Reilly said, on his show on Wednesday, that "perception outweighs truth" or something like that. And sadly it's true. The popular perception of the Republican party has been that it's a rich White man's party that doesn't support minorities. And we're just sitting back letting that falsehood persist. So we're to be good little Republicans and fall in line because we want minorities to vote for us. This is why the GOP are in such trouble. Not because the party's moved too far to the right. Because it's full of pseudo-Liberal pussies who refuse to take a stand for what they believe in and have completely abandoned their Conservative values of small government and low taxes for bailouts, HUGE government and a debt we're never going to be able to pay off. And I include George W. Bush in that. And we're going to continue to fall until we wipe that god damned yellow streak off our backs and get back to our principals. I am a Conservative. And I am extremely proud of that. But I am a Republican in name only, because like many others I've moved more Libertarian. The party didn't abandon people like Colin Powell and Arlen Spector. It abandoned people like me. People who believe that the Constitution is more than an antiquated piece of paper. That it actually means something. People who believe that government should not, and can't, stick it's fat nose into private companies and take them over. People who believe that we're not entailed to everything. I've seen where our government is taking this country and it pisses me off. This is not the country that was found over 200 years ago. This is a sad, bastardized version that is rotting from the inside out. And I, for one, am feed up with it and I hope that everyone of these cowards who refuse stand up to King Obama and his cronies lose their job in 2010, or whenever they're up for reelection. Because they don't represent me.

Thank you for your service to our country. In the face of the most dangerous and trying time in the history of this country you stood up and did what needed to be done to protect us. Not only did you have to deal with monsters who wanted to destroy us, you had to face some of the most hateful, close minded rhetoric to ever be thrown at anyone. And you could have lashed out, I know I would have, but you took it all in stride and even joked about it at times. Thank you for showing how a person in command of the United States should act.

Was your presidency perfect? No. Nothing is. Were you perfect? No. No one is. But you stuck to your principals, even if I don't agree with all of them, and showed the mettle of this great country and it's leader. I have no idea how history will look on your time in office. The people who like you say it will be favorable. The people who hate you say you will be remembered as the worst president in history. But they don't know. No one knows. All I know is that when this country needed some one to stand up, you did. Thank you.

Arrogant Appeaser?

No where does Bush say Obama's name. In fact, he says "some". Plural. More than one. It's kind of arrogant, Sen. Obama, to think President Bush was talking about you. Despite what you like to think, the world doesn't revolve around you. And what does it say about Obama that when people hear the word "appeasement" they automatically think of Obama? The presidential hopeful responded with the following

The Other Side Of Going Green

This post isn't about being against or for anything. It's just a side of the debate that I haven't seen discussed.

I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately. With this massive global movement about going Green, which is good because a clean planet is a good planet, there's been an aspect that's been mostly ignored. At least I've never heard it discussed. When we get off polluting fossil fuels such as oil and coal, what happens to the people working in those industries? I don't mean the corporate fat cats sitting in their ivory towers lighting their cigars with $100 bills[/sarcasm]. I mean the average man and woman working their asses off in a coal mine or on an oil derrick to support their families. There are some people out there who can't do anything else. Believe me, I know. This is all they know how to do for varying reasons. What happens to them? Do we tell them to get a less skilled job that pays half of what they were making before? That their families may have to do without some things because it's better in the long run? I ask because I don't know.

And then there's this. Many, if not most, gas stations now use blended mixtures of gas and ethanol and are driver are getting lower gas mileage. A local station did a story where they talked to a guy who was getting 16mpg before they switched and is now getting 14mpg. 9% less. And what with gas now at least $3.19/gallon, $3.29 in other areas of Oklahoma, people are having to fill up more often costing them even more in the long run. Why is hardly anyone talking about this? Could it maybe, possibly be that most in the media have an agenda and don't see fit to give face time to the other side of a debate that's closed?

And I love in that Tulsa World piece how some actually think President Bush and VP Cheney are somehow behind this. How he'll be sipping martini's in Cancun with his profits when he leaves office. These are probably the same people who think he masterminded the attacks on September 11, 2001.

President Bush: We Must Get Off Oil

President Bush said Wednesday that the United States has to "get off oil" to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and declared "it should be obvious" that high demand is creating painful gasoline prices.

Agreed. We have a potential supply of oil in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. We need to tap into that and see how much is there. That could temporally alleviate the pain at the pump. Then we need to set a deadline, according to how much oil we can get out of those two sites, on when we should have a viable, affordable renewable resource. While most of our oil comes from Canada and Mexico, we get far too much of it from countries that support terrorism. We're helping their economies while killing ours. I wonder how much of the money we've spent on oil from the Middle East may have went into the bombings of the WTC and the embassies in Africa? I wonder how much of it may have went into killing Israelis? How many attacks has our money helped fund?
