It's good to see the White House take a stand. And they're really putting their necks out on this one.

Speaking about the Uganda bombings, the president said, "What you've seen in some of the statements that have been made by these terrorist organizations is that they do not regard African life as valuable in and of itself. They see it as a potential place where you can carry out ideological battles that kill innocents without regard to long-term consequences for their short-term tactical gains."

Uh, Mr. President, I believe that's true for everyone not just Africans.

U.S. to Suspend Gitmo Detainee Transfers to Yemen

The U.S. will not transfer any detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to Yemen right now, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday. Well, it's step towards the right direction. Now, stop with this asinine closure of GITMO and keep these people where they need to be.

The Next Hotbed

TimesOnline is reporting that at least a dozen freed detainees from GITMO have made their way to al-Qaeda in Yemen.

The US Government issued figures in May showing that 74 of the 530 detainees in Guantánamo were suspected or known to have returned to terrorist activity since their release. They included the commander of the Taleban in Helmand province, Mullah Zakir, whom the British Chief of the Defence Staff, Sir Jock Stirrup, called “a key and seemingly effective tactical leader”. Among others who returned to terrorism was Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi, a Kuwaiti who killed six Iraqis in Mosul in 2008.

The number believed to have “returned to the fight” in the May 2009 estimate was double that of a US estimate from June 2008. US officials acknowledged that more detainees were known to have reoffended since, but the number has been classified.

GITMO is where they need to be. Plain and simple.

The more stories that come out about this Ft. Hood shooter 1) the more it looks like an act of terror and 2) it looks like some had concerns about him before hand. So, it begs the question. Why was he allowed to stay in the Army? I'm not sure how the chain of command goes in something like this, but if they knew he was communicating with members of al-Qaeda why wasn't something done? Obama says we shouldn't jump to conclusions, *clears throat* Sgt. Gates, but we have to ask. Was it because he's Muslim and some didn't want to be viewed as racist by saying something? I honestly don't know, but, like I said, it has to be asked.

A Moment Of Truth In Iraq, Pt. II

Taking an American off the street and building him into a competent marine or soldier takes a long time. It's no different with Iraqis

I finished Michael Yon's book last night, and I have to say it may be one of, if not the, best books I've ever read. Again, I stress, everyone needs to go and buy this book. There are so many great stories of thing the troops are doing that you don't get from many media outlets. This book has changed my view of the war. Like most people, I thought the troops were just fighting terrorists and "building schools and hospitals". They are doing so much more. While they're out there trying to root out al-Qeada, they're also having to be diplomats building relationships with local tribe leaders to secure Iraq's future. I strongly recommend that EVERYONE get this book, but I think the people who will benefit the most from it are the people who want to start a withdrawal of troops, people who have claimed that Iraq is lost and those who want to stop funding the war. Read the last two chapters to find out why these are bad ideas.

What did I get out of reading this book? Well, I got a sense that despite what we see and hear in the news, the Iraqi people, for the most part, do want us there. Most feel safer around an American Soldier or Marine than they do they're own military or police. I got that yes, we did some pretty stupid and horrible things in the early parts of the war, but we're making up for it today. I got that with every one story you see on the nightly news about a bomb killing American troops and civilians, there are hundreds of stories of good things going on in Iraq that don't get reported. I got that the Iraqi people are standing up to al-Qaeda and have driven them out of just about every part of the country. Mosul is looking like it may be their last stand. I got that we need more troops and more money sent to Iraq. There's not enough of either. I got that we are winning this war and damn everyone who says otherwise. Before reading this book I was in the "let's give the Iraqi people an ultimatum. Stand up and fight, or we leave". No longer. They are standing up and helping the troops and to pull any out now, when winning this war is actually with in grasp, would be a horrible mistake.

Gitmo Made Me Crazy

Salim Ahmed Hamdan has been driven mad while detained at Gitmo. At least according to his lawyer.

They say Hamdan, already the subject of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling, has essentially been driven insane by solitary confinement in a tiny cell where he spends at least 22 hours a day, goes to the bathroom and eats all his meals. His defense team says he is suicidal, hears voices, has flashbacks, talks to himself and says the restrictions of Guantánamo "boil his mind."

These are people who strap bombs to themselves, mentally disabled women and children. They're already insane. You know what this Hamdan needs? He need a weekend pass. Let him go to Havana during the weekends so he can clear his mind and stop his brain from boiling.

Why We Won't Win

Until idiots start to realize that it's not a "War On Iraq" and a "War In Afghanistan", but rather an Global War on Terror, we can't win.

You Failed Before You Succeeded Before You Failed

Nancy Pelosi stated twice on Sunday that Iraq is a failure, but was quick to cover her ass stating that the troops have succeeded. There's something wrong with this. Well, there's two things wrong with this. 1) if Iraq is a failure how have the troops succeeded? We support the troops, just not what they do. And 2) too bad for NanPel al-Qaeda in Iraq doesn't agree with her.

That second document is a bitter 16-page testament written last October by a local al-Qaeda leader near Balad, north of Baghdad. “I am Abu-Tariq, emir of the al-Layin and al-Mashahdah sector,” the author begins. He goes on to describe how his force of 600 shrank to fewer than 20.

“We were mistreated, cheated and betrayed by some of our brothers,” he says. “Those people were nothing but hypocrites, liars and traitors and were waiting for the right moment to switch sides with whoever pays them most.”

Who We're Dealing With

Two women suicide bombers who have killed nearly 80 people in Baghdad were Down's Syndrome victims exploited by al Qaida.

The explosives were detonated by remote control in a co-ordinated attack after the women walked into separate crowded markets, said the chief Iraqi military spokesman in Baghdad General Qassim al-Moussawi.

Other officials said the women were apparently unaware of what they were doing in what could be a new method by suspected Sunni insurgents to subvert toughened security measures.

You can't say this is a new low for these cowardly pieces of shit because northing's lower than using children.

For The Anti-War Crowd

I have a question for the people who are demanding that the U.S. pull all troops out of Iraq. After we do that, who then will help the Iraqis rebuild? Their country is blown to hell thanks to al-Qaeda. Shops, schools, hospitals and homes are nothing but rubble. They can't do it themselves and the cowards blowing them up aren't going to help. So, then, who? Iran? Syria? Do you really want them to "help"? Well, maybe you, do but those of us with a brain know that's not only dangerous but stupid.

Here we go again. Swedish cartoonist, Lars Vilks, is under police protection and in hiding for his life because he dared to insult the great, merciful profit Muhammad. After he drew his cartoon and it was published al-Qaeda in Iraq leader, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, offered a bounty of $100,000 for his death. An extra $50,000 should he be "slaughtered like a lamb" and another $50,000 to the person who killed the editor of the newspaper who dared publish the cartoon.

We are calling for the assassination of cartoonist Lars Vilks who dared insult our Prophet ... and we announce a reward during this generous month of Ramadan

Six years later and far too many people have forgotten that day. Not the events. We'll never forget the events. But rather the feelings they had. Six years later and people like Kim Jong Ill and Ahmadinejad are seen as comedic. People we should make jokes about. I'm guilty of it myself. We see or hear a tape by bin Laden or Zawahiri and it's "Oh, another tape. What crazy thing is he spouting this time?" I'm guilty of that as well. Six years later and we've become too complacent and lazy. And when we do try to be vigilant it's called profiling and we're called racist. We will be attacked again. It will happen. And we're going be asking ourselves why. How did this happen? Who dropped the ball?. And my answer, our answer, should be to look in the mirror.

Creating Terrorists

Once again, Glenn Beck shows why he's the best thing on CNN. On Wednesday's episode of his show he had on former Israeli ambassador to the U.N, Dane Gold. In it they talked about Iran and terrorism. You can read the interview here. Just search for "Dane Gold".

But what I want to point out is something Gold said at the end of the interview. He and Beck were talking about Iraq, how we're creating more terrorists and pulling troops out. Gold said the following

Well, I don`t want to make a suggestion as an Israeli what the United States should do in Iraq. They`re your troops. However, I will say this: Whether you leave in three months or in three years, you have to understand that withdrawal engenders jihadism. Al Qaeda was formed in 1989 when the Soviets were defeated in Afghanistan and withdrew. When Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip, Hamas won the Palestinian elections and Al Qaeda went into Gaza. You have to understand that is the dynamic of radical Islam.

If we make a full withdraw, like many Democrats want, what will happen?

We all know that Barck Obama wants to attack our allies while sitting down to tea with out enemies. Good one, Mitt. So, that got me to thinking. We know that countries like Canada, England, France & Germany all have sleeper cells on the inside. Does Obama support launching an attack on those countries as well? Will he give England one month to eliminate it's al-Qaeda cells before sending U.S. troops across the pond?
