BIAS OVERFLOWS
You'll all get a kick out of these two stories.

Story 1
Story 2

They talk about how our military is burying U.S. soldiers in Iraq to try and cover up the actual casualty numbers. Warning, there are some graphic photos with the stories. However, if you ask me, and I'm no master, only a Chief, but I smell a Photoshop job. Look at the third picture on the first story. The face looks like it has a stocking over it to smash it down a little and the tattoo on the arm has been drawn on. And as for the second story. Two words, anonymous source. Za, I must hand it to you, you know how to pick 'em.

Greta, your husband was over there. I think I'll trust an actual soldier who fought there over the media. Is our government trying to cover-up the numbers by doing something as sick as this?

I find it interesting that those who are so against the war in Iraq never present evidence for their claims.

I'm sure they would point to their photos as eveidence.
But photos on the internet are not evidence of anything except perhaps that someone has a decent hand with photoshop.

There use to be a day when a picture was worth a 1,000 words, but in this day and age of Photoshop and video editing software, anyone can create a news story and there will always be people who believe that "story".

That is the dumbest theory I have ever heard. They were buried by their superiors to keep down casualty numbers. Wouldn't that just raise the Missing in Action numbers? I'm surprised M. Moore didn't put that in his critically acclaimed propaganda film.

Oh, good one. I never thought about that. I hear he's working on a new mocumentary. If he gets his hands on this story there's no telling how he'd spin it to make it "true"

No you guys..its the UFO's that are taking people and our government is coving that up as well. (sarcasm off)

Don't forget how the Bush family killed JFK and RFK so they could be THE political family of this country. Teddy, better watch your back, I hear Neil Bush is giving you the evil eye.

No offense Chris, but your photoshop skills are... less than par.

I do extensive photo editing and I can spot fakes when I see them.
This one:

is the only possible fake (possibly inserted face), and I can verify that that's just the effect of sand on the neck.

Gee, that's funny, that's the picture I was calling fake and you just confirmed it. Thanks.

In the 2nd story it states - "...mercenaries who were recruited from different parts of the world after they answered a number of want ads placed by the U.S. government before the beginning of the war. They were promised high pay and other incentives and in some cases they were also promised US citizenship when the war is over and upon their return to the States."

Is this even remotely true (Greta)? Does this happen, do we recruit this way? I had not heard of it. Just wanted a reality check here......

I knew that was the one you were calling a fake Chris, but it's not.

Want to know why?

Because in a fake, the edges would either be pixelatedly rough, blurred, or smudged. It's none of those - the oddly outlined face is due to the dust colouration.

But you would know that if you'd spent any reasonable amount of time doing high-end top quality photo editing for more than four years now wouldn't you?

Why don't you show us some of your work, Za; before you go bagging on others about their work.

Sure thing John.

Please note that the third eye wasn't even looking in that direction originally.

This one has had people ask me how much the contacts cost.

I've done more, but they're all over the place. I'll go one better on your offer John - give me two images, and tell me how you want me to splice them. I'm on holidays now, so I've got all the time in the world.

Ok..Your good. Here's one... I want you in a picture with a Bush Cheney tee-shirt and shaking the Presidents hand.

Two days on the outside.

Problem - I can't find any pictures of Bush shaking hands with ANYONE that's bigger than 100 pixels.

Too damn many newspaper photoshoots and not enough actual photos. I did find one that was of a reasonable size, but the quality was crap, and my computer crashed after half an hour of working on it... so I've completely lost that one.

Any other suggestions? Preferably not with myself in them, mainly because it's irritating to set up a camera.

Oh, and no, I'm not stalling, I was all set to use a "Billionaires for Bush" rally background and everything.

It is alright man...you don't have to. I think you made your point by even answering and trying.

Sorry I couldn't fulfill your dream.

I was actually hoping to be able to try out my new copy of photoshop cs2, which is absolutely AWESOME.
